Breakfast At Downeys

Robert made sure to wake up extra early so he would have plenty of time to make Anna breakfast. He decided to make eggs, bacon, toast, and waffles. He set up the table with various fruits and syrups.

He decided it was too quiet besides the sizzling of the bacon so he started whistling a tune he came up with.

Anna lazily woke up to the sound of sizzling and whistling. She looked at the clock and decided it was late enough to wake up. She got up and looked at herself in the mirror for a second. She was wearing a Nirvana shirt that Robert had in his closet and a white pair of his basketball shorts, the clothes were a little too big on her but she smiled at how she looked nonetheless.

She made her way to the noises she heard in the kitchen, to find Robert placing bacon on a plate while still whistling, except just one thing made her jaw literally drop.

He was in nothing but a pair of boxers

He finally noticed her presence, and immediately realized she was staring at him. He smirked and stood up straight, purposely flexing his biceps. "I must put on quite a show for you to be so mesmerized like that..." Robert says smugly, snapping Anna out of her ogling.

"Uh... What are you talking about?" Anna plays dumb.

"I know you were checking me out, and that's okay." Robert simply says, turning away to get some plates. "By the way, you look so cute in my clothes..." He adds, putting the plates on the table. "Dig in."

"You are very bold today, Mr. Downey. Now, what is all this?" Anna asks, sitting down in a chair at the table full of the food Robert prepared.

"This, my dear, is an extravagant breakfast I have prepared for you and I to eat together, I hope you like your eggs scrambled and your bacon crispy." Anna gawps at all the food he made.

"Robert... You didn't have to do this..."

"I wanted to, you deserve it for all the hard work you do for me, plus putting up with my childish behavior everyday..." Anna chuckles at Roberts statement. "Random question, should I go put on a shirt?"

"I think that'd be a good idea..." Anna clears her throat. Robert stands up and walks in a nearby room, shortly coming back out throwing on a soft, button-up shirt with polka dots on it. Anna couldn't help but stare when he did that.

"I put on a shirt and you are still staring?"

"I'm sorry, I can't help it!" Anna blushes while finishing her toast. Robert sits back down to finish his breakfast. Anna looks at the time. "Oh, I should probably get out of your hair soon, you already have to see me everyday of every week-"

"I'd like it if you'd stay." Robert cuts her off.

"No, I can't intrude you are probably busy and-"

"Anna. I live in this big house alone, I never get company and I finally have company, the best company I could ever ask for at that, and I would love to not be here alone for once..."

"Nathan doesn't come here often?"

"The only time he comes here is if he wants something from me or if he tells me about something he finds super important. So honestly, not often. Nobody else comes here."

"I'm honestly so shocked you don't have a girlfriend or wife, you are good looking and super sweet." Anna tries to cheer Robert up.

"Don't say things you don't mean..." Robert almost whispers, standing up to put the plates in the sink.

"What do you mean? I meant what I said!" Anna also stands up.

"Oh really? Okay, maybe you meant it, but you will always regret it."

"What are you talking about, Robert?"

"I'm talking about last night! You said something similar last night in front of Nathan and once he left, I could see you regretted saying that-"

"Yeah! Because I said that in front of my boyfriend who changed for me and it is wrong to ogle when you are in a committed relationship!"

"I don't think it's wrong, it's completely normal to ogle and I feel he overreacted."

"Robert, you need to get over this crush you have..." Robert furrows his brows.

"Excuse me?"

"Like you don't know what I am talking about."

"I'll have you know it's not just some crush! Okay?!"

"So it's an obsession? Robert, even though me and Nathan had a little fight, we are still together-"

"It's not an obsession either, godammit! With how Nathan reacted and treated that situation wasn't right, it also wasn't right for him to leave in Nicole's car and it wasn't right for him to ditch you!"

"He was upset, people don't think when they are upset, like you right now!"

"Oh I can think right now, and I am speaking what I am thinking, and it is the truth! He is not ready to be boyfriend material and deep down you think that, and I know you do-"

"I do not think that! What I do think is that you need to cut this bullshit because if we keep having these stupid arguments, I'm going to quit working for you and leave Nathan so that I can live a calm and relaxed life again!" Anna yells, breathing heavily from the anger inside her. Robert is speechless, and tries to hold his tears in.

"If that's how you really feel, then do it. I will never give up on you Anna and you know why?" Robert softly says, his voice cracking as he steps closer to Anna.

"No, why Robert?" Anna says annoyed, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Because you stole my heart. Nathan's first real girlfriend, has stolen my heart. It couldn't have been anyone else, nope! My heart chose you out of anyone else. If you choose to leave my sight forever, then so be it. I will be depressed and lonely forever, Nathan will go back to his ways, but the thing is, he will give up, but I never will. If you leave I will find you again and try and try to win your heart until I die." Robert finishes, a tear left his eye.

"You will find someone better, Robert. I'm not good enough for you and you need to realize that-" Robert steps even closer to her.

"No, you are it. You constantly think I'm handsome and you blush when I compliment you, I know you feel something for me..."

"Robert... I have Nathan-"

"You aren't denying that you like me. As for Nathan, he doesn't need to know-" Robert puts a hand on her waist and Anna cuts him off.

"You are asking me to cheat on him?!"

"I'm asking you to try and be with me..."

"You are betraying your brother..."

"I am simply asking the girl I love to give me a chance before rejecting me..." Anna steps away from Roberts hold.

"I can't just jump into something like this... I need to think." Anna says, before rushing back to the guest room to put her clothes back on, and leaving Robert's house.

Robert sighs and does the dishes, secretly hoping she doesn't quit and doesn't avoid him.
