A month later...
Anna and Robert were at work, like usual on a Wednesday afternoon. They were both silently doing their own work, until Robert spoke up. "Hey, do you want to go to the beach with me this Saturday?"
"Robert, I would love to, but me and Nathan are already doing something on Saturday..." Anna says, feeling bad about turning down Robert's offer.
"Oh, okay then..." Robert says and looks back down at his paperwork.
"I'm sorry..." Anna apologizes, knowing this is upsetting him. He just ignored her, not even looking up. Anna sighs defeated, returning to her work as well.

At the end of the day, Robert was packing up to go home. Anna had already left the building ten minutes prior.
He walked across the parking lot to his car, then noticed Anna was in her own car, looking sad. Robert was too frustrated with her to go and talk to her, so he just kept walking. He heard a car door open and close, and heels clicking against the concrete in quick intervals behind him. "Robert!" He heard Anna behind him. He opened the back door of his car, putting his satchel in there, by then Anna had reached him. "Robert, I'm sorry."
"Are you, Anna?" He asks with an aggressive tone.
"W-what do you mean?" She was taken aback by his words. He scoffs and opens his car door, getting in the drivers seat. "Robert!" Anna yells at him, wanting to finish this conversation. Robert just sat in the car, not wanting to deal with this right now. "Robert, get out of the car so we can discuss this!" Anna yells again. Robert starts the car, putting his sunglasses on, ready to leave, but Anna jogs to the front of his car so he can't go anywhere. Robert huffs and beeps his horn. "I'm not moving until we talk." Anna says, stubbornly. Robert finally admits defeat, rolling down his window.
"Say what you have to say so that I can go home." He says bluntly. Anna walks to his window.
"I know this is annoying for you, but this is way harder than I thought-" He cuts her off.
"You said this a month ago, Anna."
"I know, but in my defense you said that there was no rush..."
"Yes, I did say that, but we have not seen each other outside of work since I said that! You are always with Nathan, and I was fine with it since I believed you were going to finally break things off, but you never do! I'm sick of this Anna, I am completely sick of you choosing him over me!" Robert screams, making Anna feel terrible.
Flashback...
"Hey, can we go out for dinner tonight, just you and me?" Robert asks.
"Babe, I'm sorry I was asked to watch movies with Nathan tonight..." Anna says.
"It's okay, babe. Maybe another time."
~
"Movie tonight?"
"I have dinner plans with Nathan, I'm sorry..."
"Oh... No that's fine. Have fun..."

"Hey, do you want to go to the beach with me this Saturday?"
"Robert, I would love to, but me and Nathan are already doing something on Saturday..."
"Oh, okay then..."
Flashback Over....
Anna thinks about all the times she denied his offers and starts to tear up. "That's what I thought..." Robert says coldly, quickly speeding away before Anna could jump in front of his car again.
"What the hell have I done?" Anna whispers, a tear rolling down her cheek as she stands alone in the deserted parking lot.
