Decisions

Taken aback from his offer to come inside immediately after knowing his name, my eyes widened slightly. Relax and take a breather. Brendon knows you're here and if things so south, the wall are so thin you could scream bloody murder and he'd hear you.

"O-ok. Are you sure? I don't mean to impose myself in your home.". Still having an inner debate with myself, I wanted to make sure I wasn't forcing myself into his home without his permission.

Stretching to put his hand on the door to open it further, I noticed so many more tattoos on his hand. "Oh no. I insist". He replied coolly with a smirk pulling at his lips.

I smiled nervously at him, and slowly but surely walked into his apartment. Stepping in all the way, I took note of the layout while he closed the door. Not hearing the sound of the door being locked helped me feel less nervous about meeting him in general.

In Frank's apartment there was a kitchen and living room layout that exactly mirrored mine. Everything in his kitchen was very similar to mine; even down to the k-cup pods for our Keurigs. We had windows in the same areas, except his curtains were long and draped over them; completely preventing light from getting in.

Looking around his apartment, there was a large, grey, L shaped couch taking up a large amount of the living room. In the corner a turn table on a stand next to a huge bookcase. On the bookcase there were so many vinyl records such as Metallica, Slasher, Seether, and Smashing Pumpkins. My jaw actually dropped. This being before I saw his collections of guitars; electric and acoustic.

"Liking what you're seeing I presume?". Turning around to face him after the remark, my heart did a double take seeing the smirk on his face.

"Yes actually. You have a great taste in music from what I can see so far.". He cast his eyes downwards and walked towards the kitchen. "Care for a drink such as tea or coffee? Please take a seat on the couch."

"Oh no thank you I don't need anything to drink." Looking over at him, I saw him smiling at me and nod his head towards the couch. I politely smiled back and walked over to the couch to sit. Once sitting, I could feel the awkwardness hanging in the air. Sitting there, I started fidgeting; wishing that I had taken the time to put on jeans before I took Duke out.

After what felt like 10 hours, which in reality was 2 minutes, Frank sat down on the couch with a cup of tea in his hand. After staring at me with a questioning look as if to say are you going to talk first, he spoke up.

"So...introductions?". He giggled while saying that. I guess that means he can feel the awkwardness too.

"Sure! Uh, so I'm Cassie, I just moved into my apartment 2 weeks ago. I have a puppy, one of the main reasons for coming over. His name is Duke and he is a 6 weeks old Tibetan Mastiff and he may be small now but soon he will be massive. I have the same kinds of music taste as you from the looks of it. Um I'm not sure why I'm even saying this but I'm extremely socially awkward and was debating on when to come over and forced myself to. Haha I'm sorry." Feeling as if I rambled for too long, I grew flustered and started picking at my huge thunder thighs.

Amidst talking to Frank, he had a shadow of a smile on his face the entire time. Noticing that I was picking at my thighs, he reached his hand out and placed it on my knee, rubbing it soothingly. I'm not sure what kind of witch craft he was using but it calmed my nerves instantly.

Still resting his large calloused hand on my knee, he smiled for real while looking me in the eyes. "My turn now I guess. As you know my name is Frank, and I too am socially awkward, but will stand up when I need to. I've lived here for a year now with Gee. His names Gerard but people call him Gee if they're close to him. He isn't home right now because he's grocery shopping, but he's pretty cool. Hearing you say you have a dog is fantastic though, I love dogs. Well as long as you'd let me meet him or I'd have to break into your apartment to see him. Anytime you'd need me to watch him, I would be more than happy to. I am currently unemployed right now but Gee is a comic book artist and he is wicked good."

Listening to him talk was captivating. All the while talking, he was smiling and his eyes would light up hen mentioning Gee. He truly is not what I would've expected from him based off of his looks.

"Of course you can meet him! I need to let Duke be more social and get used to strangers. He is a main reason of me visiting today too. I work Monday to Friday while being home on the weekends. I am not a fan of leaving my companions alone for long periods of time, especially when I'm going to be at work all day. Now; everyday except for Wednesdays, the neighbors across the hall from me, Pete and Brendon, can watch Duke for me. I was wondering if on Wednesdays you could watch him for me? If it's not too much of a burden for you that is."

Upon hearing my request to watch him, his eyes lit up. Almost as much as they glowed when he talked about Gee. "I'd love to! Oh I can't wait to meet him. We'll have so much fun together." His smile grew larger when he was talking, continue to rub circles on my knee.

"If you want you can meet him now. If you want to that is. I still feel weird about inviting myself over if you were in the middle of something. I should be picking him up from Bren anyways." Saying it with a smile on my face, I thought about the 2 of them playing together and chasing each other. Looking down at my lap, I didn't see Frank's jaw tighten or his brow furrow upon hearing the nickname. When I looked up at his face to see any sort of answer. He had a smile on his face, still managing to look relaxed despite the anger coursing through his veins seconds before.

"Sure. I'd be happy to." Standing and taking his hand off of my knee, he outstretched it to me, offering for me to take it. "It's a comfy couch. Sometimes you need help to get up from it."

Smiling up at him, I graciously accepted his offer and grabbed his tattooed hand, standing up alongside him. Missing his micro facial expressions yet again, he blushed slightly and his breathing hitched a bit.

On our way out, he yet again held the door open for me and we were on our way.
