Still Frank's pov😏

Agreeing to Pete's request for me to come inside, I cooed as Duke wriggled in his arms, trying to get closer to me. Still being a puppy, he may not be as strong as he would be in the future, but he was very able-bodied. Pete, sensing he wanted to come to me, asked me if I was ready for the power. As he spoke to me, his eyebrows were raised, with wide eyes and a serious look on his face.

Chuckling at his expression as he held the fluff ball,I accepted his offer.

"Is the couch fine?"

"Perfect! Now...be prepared....for the FLOOF!!" With that being said, Pete bent down and released the Kraken! Well, Duke, not the Kraken; my dokriness just had to add a mental joke of that.

Duke, being the speedy-Gonzales that he is, raced over to me. If it were a cartoon, I'd envision him as a racecar; a ZOOM a light over to me and tire noises for effect.  Within nanoseconds, I was attacked with hugs, jumps, and kisses. Although, it only reached my knee due to his height. Duke yipped happily as I reached to pick him up so he could go on my lap.

Once on my lap, the kisses continued just around my neck and face. He must've been very excited to see me. I wondered how he was when he saw Cassie after a long day; if it was like this, or this x10. The slight thought that this could be the easy version of his greetings to those he loves, brought a huge smile to my lips. Not that the smile was only from that, because obviously I was smiling with the amusing pom-pom that was perched in my lap.

"Was he like this all day with you?" I asked Pete, chuckling greatly while speaking, feeling Duke's fur tickle below my ear.

"Ha! YES! Now someone else can go through what I went through all day! Although I assume Cassie does this everyday with him. I'd be fine spending every waking moment with him." Once finishing his loving sentence, he smiled lovingly and stared off in the distance.

Shaken out of his daze by Duke whining when I didn't pet him for .3 seconds, he looked shocked as he stared right at me. "I almost forgot! You must be here for a specific reason. Well, I assume that because before this you've never stopped by here.....ever....So, what do you need?"

"Oh yes, thank you for reminding me." I smiled at him politely, creating a stroking pattern on Dukes' head and back to help ease my anger. "As you're aware, Brendon gave Cassie a ride to work, yes?"

Pete nodded at that, suddenly looking confused. "You're not aware of this part, but he also offered to pick her up; knowing there was limited time for her to leave, eat a quick bite, and head to the library. Is he normally one to stick to his plans?" I started to feel my anger surge at the thought of his ignorant brain, ignoring someone else's needs- especially hers. Duke apparently also sensed it, and licked my left hand soothingly; only stopping to rub his head against the spot he licked every five licks.

Pete on the other hand, looked even more confused if possible, his brows furrowing and nose scrunching up. "Usually he's very punctual. I'm sure he must've gotten stuck at work for something important." He grinned sheepishly at this point, clearly not knowing what to say to excuse Brendon's actions.

I decided to smirk at him. "Oh that's fine, I was just wondering because I was worried when I saw her leave the cafe, alone, clearly distressed, as she started the long walk to the library. I was glad I was able to pick her up; allowing her to change from the uniform and have a bite to eat, all while arriving slightly early to the library."

Pete grinned lop-sidedly at that, looking at the fur ball in my lap with an adoring gaze. "That's great. Had I known she was going to walk I would've picked her up myself."

"Oh that's no problem, I was already there and would love to spend more time with her whenever. Not...I know how awkward and weird it must be for me to tell you this, but I was just wondering if I should prepare myself to pick her up everyday and if falling out on his plans is a usual for him. But luckily my assumption was wrong and this was a one time thing." I smiled at Pete, hoping he could ignore the slight possessive tone I had in my voice, and the anger that almost seeped through the tone.

Once bidding our goodbyes, myself more heartfelt towards leaving the fuzz ball that continued to run circles around my legs as I walked towards the door.

Walking back to my apartment, I seethed once feeling Cassie's feelings. They were like strong, sharp, flicks of sadness. My mind started racing at the thought of whatever made her feel this way. Alas, since she didn't know about anything, I couldn't ask her about it. I would just have to wait until tonight; assuming she feels up to talking about it.

And yes, amuck simpler way would be to read her mind to tell me, but something of this feeling shouldn't be pried about.

<thoughts? I'm sorry this has been so long since I've uploaded but I've been so busy but hey I uploaded! Anyways...Laterz!>
