Promises

Stop It!

                Teresa was lying down in the same bed as earlier. Except now, she was alone. She hated this feeling. Not having someone to lean on or a shoulder to cry on. All of it was her fault though, right. This was her destiny. She missed every single one of the Gladers, especially Thomas. She still hadn't forgiven HERSELF for what she had done at the Scorch. She looked down at her body to see the cuts, scars, and bruises remained from earlier. However, she couldn't feel any pain. Was she drugged? It didn't matter at this point, though. Everything she cared about was gone, nobody wanted her. She had nothing to fight for. 

                Janson's brother walked in the room, "My name is Blake, if you hadn't already figured that out. Anyways, we will begin using you today. You seem healthy enough, for now. Let's get started." After he finished, two WCKD soldiers came in and dragged her out of the room, while Teresa tried to fight them. It was no use though. She was taken to a large room with lots of lab equipment. They sat her down in a chair, and then left. Blake followed them. 

             "What do you want from me," Teresa asked. "You found the cure, correct. We need more darling. And you don't have a choice, because every time you decide not to follow and order, you will be tortured either physically or mentally. We will hurt your friends if we have to, especially that Thomas kid. You're our prisoner now, so don't get any ideas.", replied Blake. 

             "But before we start, lets just show you what will happen if you don't obey", he continued with a devilish grin on this face. "A screen was dropped down to the center of the room. Teresa remained in her chair, clueless. Then a familiar face showed up on the screen, THOMAS. Teresa blue eyes stared on his dark brown ones. It was just a recording, but it felt as if he was with her. "We put a camera on our friend Newt, before he left. We got this footage this morning, when he found Thomas. Let's take a look, shall we",  Blake pressed play.

                Newt ran through paradise looking for Thomas. He finally spotted him with the rest of the Gladers, and Brenda. He approached them and was immediately the center of attention. "Newt", questioned Minho. "Yea", replied Newt. Newt was still devastated after what had just happened with Teresa. But he had to keep his promise. They ran up to him and hugged him like there was no tomorrow, because for them tomorrow wasn't guaranteed. "Newt?", said a raspy voice. "TOMMY," Newt embraced Thomas crying, for many different reasons. He explained to them what had happened, leaving out Teresa, and they all had the same look on their faces. Excitement, frustration, and confusion. After an hour of catching up with the Gladers, Newt noticed Thomas wasn't their anymore. He ran to the forest to see a nightmare. THOMAS AND BRENDA WERE MAKING OUT! What no no no no no, Teresa is supposed to be with him, not that shank, thought Newt. He ran up to them, and Brenda just gave him a deadly glare. Thomas looked embarrassed. She kissed Thomas one more time, before leaving and saying "I'll let you catch him up." Thomas nodded.

                    "What the bloody hell was that Tommy?", Newt nearly screamed. "Dude, me and Brenda are dating, no big deal." Thomas said. "What about Teresa, it hasn't even been a week, and you're over her ALREADY?" Newt said this time screaming. "Brenda explained to me what had actually happened. How Teresa didn't really love me, all she needed me for was the cure. Brenda loves me, more than Teresa did, and I love Brenda more than i Ever loved Teresa. So be happy for me Newt!" Thomas shouted back. "Don't you miss her?" Newt said in a sad tone. "NO, i think she's better off dead anyway. She's a betrayer Newt. She never did anything to benefit us, did she? She just played with our heads. It's not like you ever cared for her and she's not alive so why do you care?" 

                    Newt remembered the promise he had to fulfill. He had to make them forget about her, and he would have to as well.  "Yea she was never even a friend to me. She just ruined our lives, with every action she took. Brenda is way better than her man, good for you. I'm glad Teresa is gone now, makes our lives easier", Newt lied. Thomas nodded and they headed back to find the others.

              "STOP IT, THAT ISN'T REAL.", Teresa sobbed. "It's better some things be left a secret, correct. So make sure you LISTEN AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, otherwise you'll find out more about the truth. UNDERSTOOD?" said Blake. Teresa looked up and nodded. Blake left the room and slammed the door. Teresa just stared at the screen, thinking. Thomas never loved me? Newt lied to me while we were here. Brenda was DATING Thomas? 

               She was right earlier, there was nothing for her to fight for.
