Teresa's lifestyle had completely changed from the past month. After she told Blake that she had the cure as well, she was immediately locked up. They come every day to take more blood, leaving her weaker and weaker each time. Her beautiful blue eyes are beginning to turn grey. Her gorgeous skin has lost its color. Her whole body is covered in bruises, cuts, scars. Bones in her body are broken, muscles are strained, and everything else is over worked. Every morning before they take more blood, they beat her and torture her, so that she has no strength left to fight them, when they need blood.
And just because she is being used for the cure, doesn't mean she doesn't have to work anymore. She must instruct the other workers on how to do it, until each one has perfected the sequence.
This is her life now. She has given up hope, since it has been nearly two months since Newt had made his promise. The only thing that keeps her going everyday is the thought of him. If she dies or can't give blood anymore, they will find Thomas and use him instead.
At the beginning of each dreadful day, Teresa reminds herself why she has sacrificed herself.
It was a stupid reason, considering the fact that he would never do the same.
But she couldn't help herself, she still loved him.
