Promises

True Colors

"Well, you're free to go," exclaimed Gally. "Are you sure, I can stay a few more days if I need to," said Teresa. She wasn't ready to be cleared. Thomas and Brenda were making her leave the moment she walked out of the med jack, and to be honest, Teresa was terrified. She didn't want to leave her friends, especially Thomas, even though he hated her. She didn't want to find out what was out there ALL ALONE. 

"Why don't you want to go? All of my other patients have asked me when they could leave everyday, BUT you wanna stay?" Gally questioned. "Guess I just got used to it around here," Teresa forced a smile. "Is it about Thomas?" Teresa immediately shook her head, "No. I'm over him. I'm just a little nervous to meet everyone else," she said. "Whatever you say sis." Gally walked out of the room, "Just remember you can leave whenever."

It had been two hours since Gally left. She was alone in her room. Tesa knew she had to get going soon, before Brenda and Thomas found out that she had been cleared. 

She slowly rose from the bed and walked to the bathroom. She showered and changed into some jeans, boots, and a long-sleeved blue shirt that matched her eyes. She braided her hair, and sat back down on the bed. Time to go, she thought.

Teresa passed Brenda and Thomas on the way out. Brenda smirked, but Thomas kept the same expression on his face. He looked confused. Teresa sighed and began the long journey ahead. 

She was almost away from the village when she heard screams. Familiar ones. She looked back to see something opening up into the Paradise. Almost like a portal. She looked closer and realized it was the Flat Trans, with BLAKE coming out. She thought he was dead...how was he here. Why was he-Thomas. He needed Thomas for the cure since she had left. 

Teresa took off running. She had to save him. Again. She sprinted like her life depended on it, because it did. Thomas was her life. Nothing else mattered, except his happiness and his safety. 

"Hello Thomas," said Blake. "Stay away from him," Newt screamed. "Hello Newt, glad to see your alive. You were a big part of our little experiment," Blake replied. With that said, he punched Thomas right in the face. Brenda ran, and Thomas stumbled back. "Just take him, and leave me alone," and with that Brenda was gone. 

Teresa had seen the punch and that somehow made her run EVEN FASTER. She was now right by   Thomas's side, helping him stay up. "Don't you dare touch him you shank." Teresa yelled. "Ah, Teresa. How I've missed you. You know what has to be done. Hand him over, otherwise there will  be consequences." Blake replied. "I have the cure in me, too! Take me, he doesn't deserve it. Please Blake, take me instead. I'll do whatever you want, just leave him alone, and don't mess with any of the other people in Paradise." Teresa strongly said. "Why are you sacrificing yourself for this boy again. He hasn't shown any sign of admiration towards you, yet you keep giving up your life so that he can be with some other girl. Teresa, Thomas doesn't love you, so just give him up. But why do keep doing this to yourself?" Blake asked.

 "Love can make you do some crazy things. And there all worth it, so don't you touch him. Take me, torture me, kill me, but if you even lay another finger on him, I'll make sure you regret it." Teresa said, taking one step closer to Blake. 

Thomas was beginning to black out, but he was still in Teresa's arms. Teresa handed him over to Newt, who laid him down in the grass. He would wake up shortly. "No can do sweetheart, we need lover boy over here." Blake reached for Thomas, but Teresa shoved him to the ground. She punched him and kicked him until his face was covered in blood, "Don't....touch....him," she mumbled and got up. 

Minho took action, and grabbed Blake while he was weak. He threw him through the Flat Trans and destroyed it for good. Frypan came over to help Minho, because they needed to be absolutely positive that the device was never gonna open up ever again.

Teresa ran over to Thomas and Newt. "We need to get him to the Med Jack, where's Brenda. " Teresa said panicked. "That little bitch ran away and told Blake to take Tommy instead of her. Why was Thomas ever in love with her," Newt laughed. They picked him up and carried him to the Med Jack, where Gally met them. 

Teresa was left alone with Thomas for a few minutes. She had to go check on Minho and the others so she leaned down by his bedside. 

"I'll sacrifice everything for you, over and over again. I love you Tom," Teresa kissed his head and left the room. 

As she walked out, Thomas opened his eyes, with a smile on his face... he had heard every word.
