{Every Ounce of me}

A storm was coming
but that's not what she felt.
It was the adventure on the wind
and it shivered down her spine.

"You're stupid." I said, still in David's arms
"Why?" He chuckled
"I don't belong to you." I joked
"I wish you did" he laughed
My heart flip flopped in my chest. I want him to be mine too. The more I think about it, the more I want him.
When I first saw him, it took
every ounce of me not to kiss him.
When I saw him laugh, it took
every ounce of me not to love him.
And when I saw his soul,
it took every ounce of me.
Suddenly David threw me into the water. I stood back up.
"What was that for?" I laughed
"You said you didn't belong to me." David giggled
"Yeah, so?" I replied
"I'd say otherwise." David retorted
"Shut up." I slapped his bare chest
"Okay, why don't you two just get together?" Gabbie asked
"Gabbie seriously let it go. I love Ava but we are just friends." David said pulling me in for a hug
"Whatever." Gabbie laughed
We swam for hours. And laughed for what felt like centuries. Before we knew it, the sun was setting. The sky looked as if pastel paint was spilled all over the sunset.
"It's getting late, should we set up the blankets?" David asked Scott and Alex
Gabbie, Kristen and I all looked at each other confused.
"What blankets?" I asked tilting my head
Davids face lit up.
"We didn't tell you guys but, we brought blankets because we're sleeping under the stars tonight baby!" David laughed
"Wait David, are you serious?" Gabbie asked
"Yeah, we brought blankets to sleep on and some more blankets to cover up with, and of course we brought some pillows." David explained
My eyes widened.
"This is so great." I said excitedly
"Yeah this will be so fun." Kristen smiled
Scott, Alex and David laid down two huge blankets for all of us to lay on and a bunch of little blankets for us to cover up with. We set up a bunch of pillows too.
"I call sleeping next to Ava!" Gabbie said
"No! Ava wants to sleep next to me Gabbie." David whined playfully
"So you do like her!" Alex teased
"Alex shut the fuck up." David giggled softly
We all sat on the blankets and got on our phones for a while. It was starting to get dark. Scotty and Kristen cuddled and fell asleep. Alex, Gabbie, David and I were all still awake. The stars filled the sky. I was bored. I turned off my phone and turned to David who was sitting next to me.
"Wanna go for a night swim?" I asked
"Sure." He said shutting his phone off
We walked to the water. When we put or feet in, the water was surprisingly warm. David and I just stood there and looked at the stars that were scattered across the sky. He put his arm around me and pulled me close to him. There was a long pause of us just letting the water engulf our feet and looking at waves before we spoke.
"I'm sorry." David said looking at the horizon
"For what?" I said confused
"For fucking with you. All the romantic shit, I'm sorry for doing it." He said
"I don't regret any of it." I responded
"Neither do I." He admitted
I put my head on his shoulder.
"You know what sucks though?" I said
"What?" He asked
"I miss it. A lot."
"Yeah I know, I do too. But I don't wanna mess us up you know? If we start fucking around again then we're just going to ruin everything." David said
"I promise you David, no matter what happens I will always be here. I won't let us fall apart. Even if we date and break up I will never abandon you." I said honestly
"Ava, I've heard this all before." David said
"What?" I said furrowing my brows
"See what happens is, I find a girl, and we fuck around. Then shit gets fucked up and I lose someone that I fell in love with."
"I won't let that happen David. Even the thought of loosing you tears me apart. I like you David." I stated
"I'll like you forever and that's the problem." He said
"I want us to be forever David. I won't let it get fucked up."
He paused for a moment
"Okay fine, I believe you." He smiled
He hugged me.
