Davids pov

I had to hide my shock. The name that showed up on my phone made my stomach drop to the floor. The toxic memories made me dizzy and sick. I didn't need this right now, I'm already hurting. I couldn't form a response in the moment. I pressed the power button on my phone hard to help get out my mental frustration. My screen turned off and went black. I shoved my phone in my pocket and ran my fingers through my hair frantically. I was sweating. I pulled my hoodie off revealing the black shirt I had on underneath. I set my sweatshirt aside and tried to collect my thoughts.
"Do feel sick David?" Zane asked
I nodded my head yes.
"Who messaged you?" Zane said with a serious tone.
I shrugged.
Zane gave me a confused look.
"Are you okay." He asked
"Fine." I responded
Ava was done being in Scott's vlog. Scott sat next to Zane. Ava looked at my hoodie that I had placed next to me. She picked it up and slipped it over her head with a smile on her face. She then plopped down next to me. She laid her head on my lap. I rested my hand on her head and ran my fingers through her hair softly. She eased my anxiety. But my thoughts raced around my mind. I pulled my phone out of my pocket with one hand and I kept my other hand on Ava. I decided to text her back.

David: about what?

Liza: Maybe we can fix what I broke.

David: too late.

Liza: why?

David: I met someone.

Liza: we can't be friends?

David: no.

Liza: can we meet for lunch or something?

David: I'll think about it, I gotta go.

I put my phone back in my pocket. Ava sat up and wrapped her arms around my neck and laid her head on my shoulder. She then laid her legs on my lap.
"You're clingy." I smiled wrapping my arms around her.
"What's wrong with that? You love cuddles." Scott laughed
"There's nothing wrong with it, I'm clingy too." I laughed
"No you're not just clingy, you're super clingy." Ava joked
"Is that a bad thing?" I asked looking down at her with a smile.
"No." She laughed
Ava's thumb ran across my neck giving me chills.
"David what's that?" Zane laughed
I looked at him confused.
He got up off the couch and leaned over to me. He swiped his finger on my neck. His finger was covered in make up. I realized that Ava wiped off the make up on my neck and the hickeys that were there were visible.
Scott laughed
"Are you guys still sleeping together?" Scotty asked
"No." I lied out of panic
"You are covered in hickeys." Zane laughed
Zane then went over to Ava and wiped the make up off her neck revealing even more hickeys.
"So you two are still hooking up." Zane said
"No, we hooked up like a week or so ago, now we're only friends." I said
They were both still skeptical, but no longer questioned our lies.
I held Ava tighter to ease my anxiety.
I wasn't sure if I was gonna tell her about Liza, or if I was gonna meet up with Liza. Everything is just so messy and I can't fix it alone. I feel like I'm lost.
Todd walked in the the room and stretched.
I took my arms off off Ava and held them out toward Todd
"Toddy!" I smiled.
"David!" He laughed
He walked over and hugged me.
Ava laughed, keeping her legs draped over mine.
Todd stopped hugging me and then Ava scooted away from me.
"Come here." I looked at Ava and patted my lap, wanting her to sit with me.
"Are you talking to me or Todd?" She joked
I laughed
"You." I whined patting my lap again.
She scooted toward me and laid her legs on me again. I wrapped my arms around her.
"Scott, we need food, the fridge has been empty since we moved in." Todd said
"Who wants to go to target?" Scott asked getting up off the couch.
"I gotta edit baby." Zane said
"Do you wanna go?" I asked looking at Ava.
She nodded.
"Okay." I said softly while standing up and stretching.
Ava stood up as well.
"Let's hit the road." Ava said
Scott, Todd, Ava, and I all piled in Scott's car. Ava and I were in the back, while Toddy and Scott sat up front.
As the car began moving I looked at Ava who was on her phone. She was perfect. Her hair fell so perfectly, effortlessly. Possibly my favorite thing about her was her soft voice when she woke up, when she would rub the sleep out of her eyes. Or the way the light reflected off of her glossy eyes, making them sparkle. She made my heart throb, I was so desperate for her affection. My phone buzzed again. My daze was interrupted. I pulled my phone out of my pocket.

Liza: can we meet after I'm done getting food?

David: I'd have to take my friend to her apartment first.

Liza: her?

David: yeah, my girlfriend.

I didn't know what came over me. I just typed it. I know Ava and I aren't together but... I don't know. Ava is the one. I can feel it.
"Ava would you still be my friend if I put animals on top of you?" I said trying to strike up conversation.
"Nope." She said
"Come on, but I'm so cute." I joked
"Got me there." She laughed
