Paul George
"I know something happened with you and Julianna. Cynthia had to cancel our plans because you broke Julianna's heart." Melo said while we were getting ready to face the Mavericks.
I shook my head. "I'm sorry."
He folded his arms. "That ain't gonna cut it cockblocker"
I laughed. "Melo. You're gonna be good brother."
He sighed. "For real though. What happened?"
I sighed. "It's a sensitive topic. I don't want to talk about it until the end of the season really."
He frowned while licking his lips. "So you're leaving, aren't ya? She wouldn't give up on you that fast."
I nodded my head. "Maybe. I'm in a tough position."
"Listen if you know in your heart you're leaving, then tell us. Believe it or not you're a good player. They can trade you for someone. This fanbase deserves something in return." He said back.
I frowned. "I told ya, I don't know."
Melo shook his head. "Ya really liked Julianna. She asked for your loyalty and you didn't say anything back. To me you're as good as gone"
He was right. My mind was set on the bright lights of LA. When I had my teammates, the fanbase, and Julianna believing that I was staying. Truth be told, Julie was the only reason why I was contemplating this decision. She made me happy. There is not another Julie in LA. People are not replacable.
Melo walked off and he looked pissed. I sighed, as I checked my phone to see if she had texted me. Nope.
I grabbed my phone and called my mama. She was the only one I could count on.
"Hey baby" She said sounding as happy as ever. I smiled. I wish I could see her more often.
"Hey, mama. How you been?" I asked genuinely concerned on her well being.
She laughed. "I'm doing well son. But I know that's not the reason you're calling. What's going on?" She said concerned.
I sighed. "I'm conflicted. I met a girl, who I connect with on all levels. She makes me happy mom, and no I didn't sleep with her so I'm attracted to who she is."
"Baby, I'm so happy for you. I wanted you to be happy ever since you told me Daniela was making you miserable. If she's making you happy, what is the problem?" She chuckled.
"Me coming home. She said she doesn't want to be in a relationship with me if I'm just gonna end up leaving in a few months." I said back.
"I love you son. But I applaud her. She seems like she knows what she wants, and you won't give her that. Do you actually like her?" She questioned.
"Ya. Ever since I laid my eyes on her. But is she worth me not coming home?" I asked.
"You can always come home. For the offseason. You can't replace someone though. It's your decision to make" she said back.
"I thought you wanted me home"
She laughed. "Well ya. I miss you. Your dad and I can always go visit you there. I like the idea of you finding someone you genuinely like. I want that for you. It doesn't always have to be about basketball honey"
"Thank you mama. I love you. You gave me peace of mind."
"I'm here if you need me baby. Now ball out, will ya?"
I laughed. "For sure. Anything for you. I love you and I'll see you soon."
"Bye, honey" She said ending the call.
Sometimes hearing her voice and her opinion was refreshing. I needed her, and she wasn't biased at all. I gotta get my girl back.
Julianna Coley
"Wow, you're still going?" Cynthia asked. She was going to the game because Melo had given her some tickets for the game. I wanted to go, because basketball always made me forget about my problems..
I laughed. "Ya. My dad gave me these tickets. They must've cost a fortune so I gotta go either way."
"Alright. Let's go then." She said as she grabbed the car keys from the table. Hopefully he wouldn't be looking too sexy tonight, but who am I kidding. He always does.
..
"My seat is over there" I tapped Cynthia's shoulder. We were separated this time, and I was a little bit scared because of last time.
"Okay, meet me by the lockerrooms after the game." She said back.
I frowned. "Ugh, okay" r
She smiled. "It'll be okay. I promise"
I went over to my seat where I was at the end of my row. If I had to guess my seat was about eight rows back from the court. Pretty good seats. I tried to stop myself from looking at Paul but he would always stay near the center of the court, so it was hard to ignore him.
"Excuse me," A man said to me. I let him pass through me just for him to sit back next to me. He was pretty cute. He was wearing a Westbrook jersey which hid his hazel eyes. He was a lightskin, and I wasn't normally attracted to them but here I was.
"I see you staring"
I blushed as I turned away. "My bad"
"Nah, you're good. What's your name?" He asked.
"Julianna," I said back.
"Beautiful name, for a beautiful woman." He complimented me. As long as he didn't slap me. It was nice having him around. I would tolerate this.
"Thank you. And you are?" I questioned.
"I'm Michael." He said back. Our eyes locked and we then proceeded to talk about random subjects throughout the game.
"Yo, am I crazy or is PG looking at you?" He pointed out.
Paul was indeed staring and he forced a weak smile, but I pretended not to see him "He's probably looking at somebody behind us."
"Ya, I'm crazy. I need to stop drinking" he chuckled.
Michael was a nice and funny guy. Everything you would want in a guy, but he wasn't Paul. I hated myself for letting what I had with Paul dictate what was happening now.
After the game he gave me his number, and I gave him mine. I wasn't going to use his though. The Thunder ended up winning behind Westbrook's 29 points.
"I'll see ya later right?" Michael raised an eyebrow.
"Ya." I said lying forcing a smile on my face.
