Lena returned to her desk, as she began to sift through the huge computer database at the precinct, trying desperately to find any sort of lead on this case. Which was proving a lot harder than she had first thought. She still hadn't discovered the identity of the victim, or how he was killed, the autopsy was useless. This really was not Lena's week, this was the first case since Lena had been promoted that she was unable to crack, she blamed Kara for that one entirely. It was so hard to think with a bouncy blonde following your every move, asking more questions than ever thought possible, and worst of all her wardrobe choices were just so distracting, who wears bright clothes in a police precinct. No one thats who. Well no one apart from Lena's new partner.

Lena groaned, hitting her fist on the desk with frustration, now that she was on thin Ice with Superintendent Grant, because of the whole leaving Kara stranded at a crime scene incident, she couldn't afford to mess this case up, she couldn't afford to mess anything up. Lena thought that the best use of her time would be to take another look at the crime scene, this time alone, maybe then she would be able to hear herself think instead of the blonde just spouting absolute nonsense. Lena picked up her car keys as she stood up from her desk, making her way to the precinct exit, when an icy voice made her body stop moving in fear.

"Are you forgetting someone?" Superintendent Grants voice ran out in the Precinct, Lena turned around to see he standing next to Kara who looked a lot less teary than the last time the brunette had seen her. Grant pushed Kara forward towards Lena. "Luthor, last warning!" Grant shouted before turning quick on her heels, as she slammed her office door behind her. Lena rolled her eyes, as her heartbeat began to calm down, even after knowing Superintendent Grant for all these years, she still scared the shit out of her. Lena groaned loudly as Kara began to follow her to the car, so much for being able to get some peace and quiet.

Lena was busy examining the crime scene, trying to map out exactly what had happened in her head, and surprisingly Kara had been rather quiet for a change, Lena could get used to this. But of course all good things must come to an end, as the blonde opened her mouth.

"Have you got any plans for after work?" Kara asked curiously in an upbeat tone, which was ironic considering they were at a murder scene, but no matter. Lena just sighed heavily, next time she really had to remember to bring her headphones with her, maybe at least then she could drown out the blondes annoying voice. The brunette decided to just ignore Kara, maybe she would finally take the hint and leave her to her own devices. Kara moved closer to the brunette, kneeling down beside her, trying to figure out exactly what Lena was looking for, if the forensics team had already gathered any possible evidence.

"A hot date maybe?" Kara propositioned, Lena sighed heavily again, but this time she turned her head to give the blonde the most unimpressed look she could muster, raising an eyebrow slightly, Lena had never been the one to introduce or partake in small talk, she found it rather annoying and pointless at that. "Wait do you already have a boyfriend? Or maybe a Fiance? Oh you must do!" Kara continued getting more and more animated, she looked Lena up and down, almost marvelling at the brunette. "I mean look at you!" Kara explained, throwing her hands out in a gesture towards the other woman.

Lena stood up from her kneeling position on the grass, her eyes narrowed now, angry at Kara for asking her all of these personal questions, and frustrated that she had found absolutely nothing at the second look at the crime scene.

"Do you ever shut up?!" Lena shouted throwing her hands down to sit on her hips, Kara averted her eyes from the angry brunette, her cheeks glowing red slightly for one reason or another, Lena couldn't care less why in that moment. "Find your own way back, I don't care what Superintendent Grant has to say about it!" Lena paused for a slight moment, breathing in a sharp intake of breath. "I. Cannot. Stand. You!" Lena emphasised as she began to march back over to the car, running her hand through her flowing raven hair.

Kara was still kneeling at the crime scene, she was about to stand up when she noticed something silver glinting in the hot summer sun in the grass, Kara reached out and grabbed it, it looked like some sort of metal necklace. But at a closer look at the writing on one side of the metal, Kara realised it was something much more useful. She stood to her feel at and ran after Lena.

"Lena!" Kara called as she reached the brunette, just as she was about to get into her car.

"Leave me alone Blondie!" Lena growled, her eyebrows furrowed deeply in anger.

"This is a medical ID, I know who our victim is!" Kara said excitedly holding out the metal necklace the she had found, Lena snatched it clean out of her hand, looking at it and then the blonde disbelievingly, a small smile playing at the corner of Lena's lips as she shook her head.

"Get in the car Nerd" Lena muttered, Kara smiled cheerily as she skipped around to the passenger side of the car, Lena started up the engine as she drove the two of them away from the crime scene, finally she had a lead. Now they real fun begins.
