One Murder, Two Detectives: A Supercorp Adventure

Chapter 14

Kara had just finished packing her bags for her work trip with Lena when her doorbell rang, she sprinted across the apartment floor, almost falling over a pile of dirty washing as she tripped over the small rug before finally reaching her front door. She brushed herself down knowing who was going to be on the other side of the door she wanted to look the best that she could in her road trip wear. Which was a pair of mustard coloured sweatpants , with a blue and white striped hoodie. She had spent an hour before hand trying to decide whether or not to wear her bobble hat, but had eventually decided for it. So a bright pink bobble hat completed the look when she opened the door to Lena Luthor. 

Kara's mouth fell to the floor when she saw the flawless brunette leaning against her door frame, she was wearing a beautiful, clingy suit that showed her off in just the right places. Meaning of course Lena had neglected to do up most of the buttons on her almost see through shirt, leaving absolutely nothing to Kara's imagination. Her piercing emerald eyes catching Kara blatantly checking her out. Lena rolled her eyes when she saw what Kara was wearing, not that she really expected anything differently from the blonde, she would have been more surprised if Kara wasn't wearing an awful mix match of blinding colours. 

"Are you ready to go?" Lena mumbled moodily, Kara smiled brightly as she skipped out of her apartment, slinging her bags over her back as she did so, shutting her apartment door carefully behind her as she skipped down the hallway. Lena walking slowly behind her, hoping to keep enough distance between the two of them that she wouldn't be associated with the blonde by the strangers passing the pair in Kara's apartment building. One thing for sure this was going to be the longest trip of her life, and not just because the lectures and seminars would be undoubtedly boring. 

Lena dragged her tired body into the driving seat of her car, as Kara shoved her bags in the back seats before bouncing into the front passenger seat, the spirited smile set heavily in her face. And all Lena cold think was how she would love to knock that smile off of the blondes face so badly. However instead of assaulting Kara, Lena decided to start the car, and try to get this drive over as fast as she could.

Two hours into their drive and Kara was still blabbering on about random things that Lena could not care less about and if it wasn't for Cat's strict instructions to play nice with her subordinate it would have taken her no time at all to gladly tell the blonde to shut the hell up. The amount of times that Lena had to check herself before she was about to use 'Blondie' to refer to Kara was unbelievable, but again she was under strict orders from Cat to stop using her silly nicknames. 

Finally Lena pulled up to the fancy hotel where the event was taking place in New York City, as she handed the car keys over to one of the staff members in order to park the car away. Her and Kara walked into the lobby, suitcases in hand as they were briefed that some of the after parties were formal and they were both to be on their best behaviour. 

"Room for Lena Luthor and Kara Danvers." Lena said sharply at the front desk. 

"Please." Kara interjected, mouthing her apologies for Lena's abruptness to the receptionist, which made Lena roll her eyes so hard that it physically hurt her. The receptionist handed over the room key with a smile directed at the blonde, Lena snatched it and turned away heading towards the lift. "Thank you! And sorry about her its been a long drive!" Kara said happily to the receptionist before following Lena into the lift. Luckily the brunette never head Kara's last comment otherwise god knows how she would have reacted. 

Lena opened their hotel room door, walking slowly inside and what she saw almost made her eyes bulge completely out of her head. The only things in the room was a separate bathroom, a large television and one double bed which was the centre piece to the room. Kara happily dumped her bags in the corner of the room before jumping straight into the bed giggling like an excited child. 

"What's wrong Lena?" Kara asked confused at why Lena looked like she had just seen a ugly ghost having sex with her grandmother. 

"Theres only one bed." Lena said slowly still trying to understand that fact herself. Kara giggled more nodding at Lena's statement. 

"It's big enough for both of us don't worry! It will be just like a sleepover! I've always wanted to have an adult sleepover!" Kara exclaimed getting more and more excited by the second. Lena should have known that Cat had chosen Kara to go to this event with her for a very obvious reason, Cat Grant was trying to play match maker. 

"What the hell, just when I thought this weekend couldn't get any worse." Lena mumbled under her breath before dumping her bags on the other side of the bed. Now one thing was for sure, Lena was not going to come back from this trip the same as when she left...
