Lena walked into the police morgue, where she could see a small section of the forensics team carrying out their autopsy on what she assumed to be the victim on her new case, but before she could get a better look a harsh from behind her rose up in the otherwise silent room, Lena winced as she turned around to face the embodiment of Satan herself, Superintendent Grant.
"Luthor! With me! Immediately!" She ordered before turning swiftly and marching out of the morgue, Lena turned to the victims body wishfully before deciding it was better to live and fight another day than risk going against Grant's orders which would only result in death. Lena followed her out quickly, the Superintendent lead Lena straight into her office closing the door behind her, a sure sign that she was preparing to launch her first attack. "I have just been informed that you left Sargent Danvers at the scene of the crime for absolutely no reason at all, please tell me they are mistaken Luthor!" Grant barked, her voice turning into a deep growl when she reached the latter halve of her sentence. Lena cleared her voice.
"I told her to stay at the crime scene in case there were any unseen developments" Lena tried to explain herself but the growing frustrated look on her Superintendents face told her that she was anything but successful.
"Don't bullshit me Luthor, there was never going to be anymore developments you know that as well as I do!" Grant shouted, effectively silencing Lena who had no idea how she was going to recover from this. "Why did you do it? I told you to take that girl under your wing and turn her into a detective the city would be proud to have" Grant said sitting down at her desk, rubbing her temples with her hands, sighing heavily, Lena ran her hand through her tangled bed hair, which she hadn't had time to brush before rushing to the crime scene that morning.
"She is the most annoying person I have ever met in my entire life and I grew up in a group home, so that's saying a lot" Lena paused, "her voice sounds like something they would torture you with in the depths of hell, she is always hyper, never shuts up, oh and her clothes are always brighter than the sun!" Lena ranted throwing her hands up in the air, when a small sniffling noise came from behind her, She turned round and saw that Sargent Danvers was standing at the now opened door of Superintendent Grant's office, she had heard everything. The blonde burst into tears before running off down the hallway of the precinct, Lena turned back round to face Grant who now had a super serious look on her face.
"Listen Lena, I didn't particularly enjoy being your mentor at the start either, but you grew to be one of my closest friends and allies. You used to be a gothic, sadistic, annoying little girl, always thinking you were right, the worst thing was you didn't even want to be here" Grant said in serious tone, pointing her finger at the brunette, who really didn't need to be reminded of her past demons. "At least Sargent Danvers is eager to learn from you, or at least she was until she heard what you really think of her" Grant paused opening up a file on the top of the mountain of paperwork at her desk. "Be a mentor not another bully on the school playground, this is your final warning, you're dismissed" Grant warned, as Lena nodded walking out of her former mentors office, sighing deeply rubbing her eyes.
Lena walked back to her desk, looking around the precinct for the bouncy blonde but she was nowhere to be seen. She walked into the ladies bathroom, knowing thats where people with so called emotions went to express them. And sure enough she heard the faint sound of a women crying from one of the locked stalls.
"Hey Blondie, look, I'm sorry that you overheard me saying those things about you but we have a case to solve so you need to come out" Lena said as she leaned against the sinks opposite the stalls that Sargent Danvers inhabited.
"My name isn't Blondie!" Sargent Danver's shouted through her tears, Lena rolled her eyes.
"Fine Sargent Danvers, now come on lets go" Lena groaned, this is why she hated the idea of having a partner of any kind, she didn't like people at the best of times, but especially when they were being emotional.
"My name isn't Sargent Danvers either Lena!" The blonde called out from her hiding space in the stalls, Lena sighed racking her brains for the name that was in their somewhere.
"Look does it really matter what your name is? The main thing is I'm sorry for what I said, it was uncalled for and I think we should just move on with the case and forget what happened, I didn't mean what I said about you Blondie" Lena said, rolling her neck, which was beginning to stiffen up, suddenly the stall door swung open and the blonde emerged, eyes and face red from crying.
"My name's Kara for your information!" Kara shouted before running out of the bathroom, Lena raised an eyebrow after the blondes fleeting body flying down the corridor at quite a speed.
"Are you seriously running away from me right now? Real mature Blondie! Real. Mature!" Lena called after her as she started walking down the corridor after her.
