Kara was still sat at Lena's desk, using her access to the police database to try and get any possible information she could on the victims background and family members without talking to the family in question. Because apparently that had to wait until tomorrow Blondie. Kara mocked Lena's last words in her head, rolling her eyes as she did so. Suddenly Kara's eyes gleamed as she came across exactly what she was looking for. A police report from around two years ago, so fairly recent. Mike Daxam, the victim of this brutal murder, had been caught up in some sort of crime ring, running a mock around the city.
Kara read further into the report, she was absolutely enthralled in the story, honestly this stuff was like some Law and Order US story line. Kara had made a list of all the other members in the crime ring, a long with some of the named victims, and other possible suspects. Anyone on this list would have the motive to kill Mike, maybe he threatened to go to the police? Or to go straight? Or maybe he simply knew to much?
Kara's first impulse was to call Lena, to let her know what she had found out. So they could take action before anything else happens, or any suspect trues to leave the country, because then its just a whole mess with jurisdiction. She thought back to how adamant Lena had been when telling Kara that this could, and would all wait until tomorrow, did she really want to risk the wrath of Lena Luthor?
Kara bit the bullet and dialled Lena's work number, which Inspector Grant had given her after Lena had refused many a time. There was no reply, Kara sighed as she sent a her a text instead. The blonde started pacing around the precinct, annoying every single person on the night shift, and she could tell that by their grunting, and judgemental looks flying her way. Kara decided to phone again, and again, and again...and again. Still no answer. Kara sat down at the desk, fiddling with a stress ball she found in Lena's desk drawer.
Kara checked her phone, looking at the time, it was almost midnight, surely Lena should have phoned her back by now? Unless something has happened to her? Kara rubbed her temples with her fingers as she leaned her elbows on the desk. Trying now to make the decision of whether she should go over to Lena's apartment and tell her face to face, and also make sure she wasn't a new murder victim, Kara realised how stupid that sounded, I mean first of all no one could destroy something that beautiful. Well maybe I could. Kara smiled at her own wit as she grabbed her car keys and walked swiftly out to the car park. After joining the force she thought the most confusing thing would be all the tests, and solving crimes, but turns out it was her unpredictable attraction to her mentor Lena Luthor.
Kara walked up the steps of a building that looked more like a motel than an apartment building, it was beginning to rain as she knocked on Lena's front door. She heard a thump coming from inside followed by a fit of laughter, that sounded a lot like Lena, if Lena could laugh that was. Suddenly the door swung open and behind it stood James who was completely naked apart from some Boxers. Kara covered her eyes, as soon as she realised his undressed state, she most certainly did not want that in her life.
"Baby It's for you" James called as he walked away from the door, Kara cringed, when she heard the word "baby." She took her hand away from covering her eyes when she heard lighter footsteps approaching the door, hoping that James had left her sights. When she opened her eyes she was met with Lena, leaning against the frame of the door, arms crossed, a glare present on her face. She was wearing a set of black lingerie, with a silk black dressing gown flowing over her pale skin. But Kara didn't bother to cover her eyes this time, this she could just about deal with.
"This better be a life or death situation or I swear to god, I'll make it one." Lena growled, Kara gulped a little to loudly and with the smirk on Lena's face she could tell the other woman had heard it. "How did you know where I live?" Lena asked, as she just realised that she never told the blonde that information to try and stop this sort of thing from happening.
"T-That doesn't matter." Kara stammered, still a little bit hypnotised by the sight of Lena's perfect body. Kara certainly wasn't going to admit while she was at the station she looked up Lena's file and read everything she could to do with the woman. Lena narrowed her eyes, quirking an eyebrow, waiting for an explanation as to why the blonde was on her doorstep in the first place. Kara must have been staring a little to hard at the masses of Lena's cleavage on show, the brunette wrapped the dressing gown around her body, folding her arms over the glossy material.
"Like the bra do you Blondie?" Lena remarked snarkily pulling Kara out of her hypnotised state, clearing her throat as her cheeks glowed a shallow red colour.
"I found out possible suspects in the murder case, I think they are all time sensitive most of them have bought plane tickets flying out later in the week." Kara explained. Lena did not look happy, she took a step forward so she was standing extremely close to the blonde, now out of the apartment.
"You came to MY house, In the middle of the night, after I told you that this could wait until the morning, to tell ME that this case was time sensitive, like its my first FUCKING MURDER CASE!" Lena yelled her face now millimetres from Kara's who took a step back from the force of Lena's yell. Kara stumbled over her words trying to think of something to say in reply. "Go home Blondie before I file an harassment suit." Lena remarked walking back inside her apartment and slamming the door. Kara breathed out for the first time in what felt like ages, her body riddled with nerves and something she couldn't quite describe as she made her way back to the car. One things for sure she was not looking forward to the next day, having to work with Lena when she was quite clearly now on her bad side.
