The next morning, on the day of the tournament's first round, Azorath has woken up and opened his eyes. He looked over at the other edge of the bed but with no Minou. He noticed something on his arm so he looked closer to his body. Minou in her sleep had hugged his arm and began to cuddle against him. Her smile had shown a good nights rest. Azorath lightly blushed and looked away before trying to get up. He slid his body off, but his arm was still taken by his best friend. "Erm....." He whispered to himself. "This is a bit tricky..." Minou started to snore a little bit as Azorath tried to replace his arm with a pillow. Eventually he was able to, and he got up to make breakfast. Of course he cooked ramen, because that's all they had. Minou soon got up and walked to the kitchen, holding a pillow under her arm, but obviously not fully awake. Her tired eyes would look around the room while she sat down at the table. Azorath smiled and poured her a bowl of ramen. "Sleep well?" He asked, knowing how well she slept. Minou stared at him for a moment and slowly nodded as she began to eat. Azorath poured himself some ramen and ate with her.
Eventually, when Minou had fully woke up, she looked at the clock. "Ah!" She said, "The tournament is about to start! We have to hurry!" In an instant, Azorath and Minou jumped up and hurried to get ready. Minou went into the bathroom to change into her clothes, but Azorath decided to stay in the blue and white outfit, but went into the closet and grabbed a matching blue jacket. "Oooh. This I can get used to." Azorath said as he stopped to examine his outfit. "Certainly beats those brown-poor excuses for clothes that the orphanage gave me." Minou ran out of the bathroom, threw the blue and white clothes on the bed, and hurried off to the door. Azorath noticed her and started to follow in a small hurry.
As they arrive at the tournament building, many other participants show up as well, walking towards the gate. They all walk in and wwait around. Azorath noticed a cool looking man in light green and white with a hat. A secret door over to the side opened up, and Erwin walked down slowly. "Attention! Everyone!" He called out "You are on the wrong floor. I am going to have to ask you to move upstairs with me to the arena." Everyone followed Erwin upstairs as he walked. The room had literally nothing it in at all, but mirrors along the wall at an average tall person's height. A hallway continued down the pathway. Erwin led them to the arena and stopped. "For now I will give out the names and order for each participant." Erwin spoke as he named off the various fighters. But Azorath wasn't paying much attention. He was looking around the room at all the various fighters. There were all kinds of fighters it astounded him. He had never before seen such an array of talented people this closely.
"Hey! Azorath! Wake up!" Minou said as she snapped her fingers in Azorath's face "Were you even paying attention?" "Uh what? Haha yeah totally." Azorath replied "So what now?" This sparked an argument between the two. Minou started with "Ugh, you didn't even listen did you?"
"W..well I tried! I was just um busy.."
"Busy doing what? I was and am standing right next to you."
"Well um you know heh....watching the competition."
"Oh so you were goofing around while I was finding out who you are planned to fight first." She said with a smirk.
"Oh tell me! I wanna know!"
"Hmmmm nope! You will have to find tomorrow when you fight him or her yourself hehe."
"Awwwwww that's not faaair! Can you just give me a hint?" A teeny tiny one?"
"Nuh uh! You have to find out yourself. Now c'mon lets go I wanna see the town." Minou stuck her tongue out at Azorath as she walked away.
"Why I outta....get back here you!" Azorath followed quickly behind her.The pair walked outside to the busy streets, and Minou looked at Azorath for a moment, before looking away telling him something. "Azorath...I'm sorry about yesterday...I was so distrustful to this place but that is because I'm just not very used to a large city like this. Where I live, its large in population but it's very spread out." Azorath chuckled before he replied with "It's ok. People react to things differently, that's what makes us people, but we have to accept those people for who they are." His emotional miniature speech forced a slight smile upon Minou's face. "C'mon...lets go look around." She somewhat quietly spoke before walking away, expecting Azorath to follow him, which he did gladly. They walked together through the busy streets until Azorath stopped Minou and whispered something in her ear. "D..do you think....we could pranks on people?" He whispered to her. Minou had an menacing smile on her face. "I have some ideas." She replied and they walked over to the back alley. Their childish and gleeful minds came up with horrible pranks and they went to go put them in action.
They ended up on a rooftop looking down at the crowd below. "Wh..why would you even have that to spawn?" Azorath asked as he held a paint ball rifle in his hands. Minou replied with "Trust me, once you learn this magic skill, you just wanna take everything to the magical inventory. Now hurry up and aim." She turned his head towards the crowd of people below them. Azorath looked through the gun's scope quietly and carefully. The crosshairs pointed to a man with a yellow fedora, begging to be painted. Azorath's trigger finger started to wiggle its way down until the paintball shot out onto the unsuspecting person's hat. A splat of blue fell upon the hat as it fell of the man's head. Azorath and Minou laughed as they hid the best they could. The man picked up his hat and yelled around the crowd. After a little bit of waiting for the man to calm down, Azorath aimed at a bag of groceries that were carried by a woman and in the woman's hand was an apple. Azorath's aim quickly moved towards the apple and waited. Right before she would take a bite he shot the apple, covering that part blue. The woman jumped up in surprise and started to freak out. They took turns shooting unsuspecting crowd members and their personal items. When Azorath turned around to look at Minou, he noticed the barrel of a gun pointed at his body. The shiny metal barrel led him to Minou, standing their with a grin on her face. "I hope you've lived a good life kiddo, because today is your last." She told him. Her finger drew near the trigger, as she turned the safety off. Azorath tried to smack the gun away, but it was to late. Minou already pulled the trigger.
After the quiet gunshot, the splatter of red had bled through Azorath's shirt. Minou's evil laughter was only heard between the two. Azorath gasped, then saw Minou fade away as his eyes closed and his head fell backwards. Minou walked up closer and grabbed him by the shirt. "Why don't you just get up you nerd? It's just a paint ball." Azorath then opened his eyes and chuckled "Haha but it's so funny." Azorath swung his gun around and shot Minou in her leg. "Hey!" She yelled and laughed. "It's on!" She jumped back and the two had a little shooting war until they were both all out of paint, covering both their clothes and the roof around them. When they ran out of ammo they walked on home, took turns getting the paint off and washing the clothes, and went to bed waiting for tomorrow.
