I wake up and look around. I feel someone staring at me. I think that's Pansy.

"You're... You're Isabelle, aren't you?" She whispers.

I nod warily. "How do you know?" I whisper back.

"Everybody talks about you. How did you get so close to Snape?"

"None of your business." I retort.

"Just curious. Hey, what's your blood status?"

"That's all you Slytherins care about, isn't it?" I huff and turn away.

"No. I just want to have an interesting friend that my parents would approve of." She is trying to repair the situation. I can't have extra friends. It's too dangerous.

"I can't be friends with anyone..." I mutter to myself. Pansy looks confused.

"What's that? I didn't quite catch what you said."

"I'm... Um... Busy most of the time. Potions work." I lie.

"I can sign up as well!"

I face palm. "No, you can't. This..." Ugh, why can't she just let it go? "It's just a one on one thing. I want to teach potions... When I'm older so I want to begin training..." I'm a horrible liar.

"Ok... Well, if you want to be friends just..." She yawns. "Tell me..." She says sleepily and dozes off. I use this opportunity to get dressed and get out of there.

So yeah, maybe I would like a friend of my own, someone who I didn't have to be friends with for their own good, but I would prefer someone who wasn't all possessive over Draco. I would also like someone from another house... I mean, what would I say about my blood? 'I'm a muggle by the way.'

I snort. Yeah right. I trot up to breakfast and sit down. Hermione comes over to me.

"I know it's not nice to judge, but honestly, why do you like Snape so much? He almost knocked Harry off his broom at that Quidditch match, don't you remember? Anyway, the boys want me to tell you that they don't trust Snape at all anymore and are saying that his chance is gone."

"Just great. Thanks a lot, Ron!" I call over to the Gryffindor table. "I really appreciate the support!"

"Your welcome!" He shouts back cheekily. I scowl and he laughs at me. Hermione giggles.

Just then Pansy sits down beside me. "Hey Isabelle."

Hermione takes one look at her and walks away.

"Hey..." I say.

"Do you think you belong in this house at all? I mean, don't get me wrong but you look like you don't like it here."

"You got that right. Oh well. Snape's rather nice to me, though."

"Yeah, he is, isn't he?" She drops her voice. "So are you actually muggle born? Like they say you are? I won't tell anyone."

"Oh is that what they've said about me? Well, I guess that's technically correct..."

"You're actually being nice to me?"

"Well, yeah."

"Wow."

"The mean side that you've been seeing is what I use to cover up the part of me that wants to defy my parents. I'm actually okay with Granger."

I whistle.

"So do you want to be friends?"

"I honestly... Don't know..."
