Mother Returns

After a few weeks of working with the Earthrealm defenders, Raiden and Liu Kang went to speak with the Elder Gods to discuss Shao Kahn's invasion, leaving Nightwolf in charge. Sub Zero noticed the Lin Kuei surrounding them thanks to his cyborg body. You got ready to fight and when Nightwolf ordered the attack, you all charged at the Lin Kuei. You took out your knife and slashed at the nearest Lin Kuei's throat, before unloading a barrage of gunfire from your wrist guns into the torso of another. Within minutes the team had destroyed the Lin Kuei. You looked at Kitana and she saw her mother. Within seconds, an unearthly screech echoed throughout the chamber. You covered your ears until the screeching stopped.
"Come forward if you dare. I will finish what the Lin Kuei could not", Sindel shouted at your team with an evil smile. You ran up alongside your team and attacked Sindel. She dealt with your friends easily, but she deliberately left you alive, kicking you hard enough in the stomach to send you flying into the staircase unconscious. When you awoke later on, Liu Kang and Raiden were back. You staggered towards them and collapsed on one knee. You made it to Kitana and held her hand, Liu Kang holding the other.
"I was we had met under different circumstances Liu Kang... Y/N, may we meet again...soon...I love you....", Kitana weakly said before her eyes closed and she died. You slammed your fists into the ground in despair and mourning.
"They're DEAD!", you shouted as tears filled your eyes.
"My heart too is heavy with their sacrifice", Raiden said trying to comfort you and Liu Kang
"Their deaths achieved NOTHING!" Liu Kang shouted at Raiden. To hopefully live on, should you die in this invasion, you decided to head to the Netherrealm to ask Quan Chi for his help.
"Quan Chi? Quan Chi!", you called out to him. Scorpion appeared
"What is it you want with him?", he asked with his usual angry voice.
"I wish to speak with him", you replied. Scorpion nodded
"You may address me. I will inform him. He is currently busy with other matters", he replied. You nodded in respect.
"Inform Quan Chi that I have an offering to make. In the event that I die, I offer him my soul. He will have it", you said to him. He nodded and left to inform Quan Chi. Quan Chi then appeared a few minutes later on.
"So, Y/N L/N. You come to offer me your soul?", he questioned. You nodded
"Yes. I overheard Shao Kahn saying that all Earthrealm warrior souls would be yours. I offer mine too, in the hopes that I can live on after my death. When I die, my soul will be yours to command.", you explained. Quan Chi pondered this thought.
"Very well. We have a deal then", he said and held out his hand. You shook it and Quan Chi summoned the souls of the dead Earthrealm warriors. You saw Kitanas soul. All of them looked in awful condition, with scratches and scars across their bodies, but they were dead after all. You nodded and bowed to Quan Chi before you turned to leave.
"Thank you Quan Chi. I hope that I serve you well in death", you said before leaving. Kitana looked at you in surprise and a small amount of delight. You'd offered Quan Chi your soul, not just to live on after death, but to hopefully be with Kitana for ever. You didn't care she liked Liu Kang a lot. You just wanted to be on the same side as her
