Back in the Netherrealm, you all sat down to discuss the new rulers.
"Y/N has shown the most leadership in this whole mission out of all of us. He should rule. Not to mention he has shown concern for the rest of us, even letting himself get hurt so the others can fight", Liu Kang suggested. The rest of the group agreed.
"But what about the Empress?", Kung Lao asked. You and Kitana shared a look. She nodded, indicating it was ok and that she would love you the same way even if you two were rulers. You smiled and held her hand, willing to accept the burden if she was.
"Kitana should rule alongside me. She's been the strongest of us and she's already had experience ruling", you suggested. Sindel was a little surprised, but she agreed
"Y/N is right, she was to be the Queen of Edenia before Shao Kahn attacked us. She should rule", she said. You smiled and kissed Kitana on her cheek.
"It is settled. Kitana and Y/N shall rule in place of Lord Shinnok. The Netherrealm will become more powerful with more allies working with us. The strongest will look for recruits who will serve us while the others will train those we have", Liu Kang said.
"Liu Kang. As the strongest and most powerful of us, you will be in charge of finding people to serve us. Kill them without hesitation and their souls will serve us forever", you ordered.
"Yes Emperor", he said and went off to find others to help him destroy the enemies and enslave their souls to serve you and Kitana forever. The two of you headed somewhere to change into your new clothing as new rulers. Kitana walked out of her room in new attire and you smiled at her

"You look absolutely beautiful", you said to her before kissing her forehead. She took off her mask and kissed you deeply before you headed into your room to change your attire. You came out wearing new armor that would inspire fear in your enemies.

Kitana marvelled at the sight of your armor. You took your helmet off and she kissed you. You happily kissed back before you two took your places on the thrones. Just then Raiden arrived, but looking different.
"Too long have I allowed Earthrealm to endure the horrors of war. Time and again we've defeated our enemies. But we've exacted no retribution. Demanded no remuneration.", he said before his tone turned even more angry.
"What have we gained for our mercy? More intrigue. More senseless violence. As new rulers of the Netherrealm, heed me. No longer will I simply defend Earthrealm. I will seek out and destroy all who threaten it. No mercy will be shown. No quarter given.", he said before reaching into his bag and throwing something onto the floor. You realised that it was Shinnok's head. Raiden continued with an even darker tone.
"Shinnok was an Elder God. Impossible to kill. There are fates worse than death.”, he said before he teleported away. You and Kitana got up from the thrones and looked at the head of Shinnok before looking at each other, then back at the head in silent contemplation.
