After a few weeks of training, you'd learned so much. You'd even learned to throw your sword for it to return to you, thanks to a bit of Quan Chi's magic giving you slight telepathy when he healed your wounds during your training, and it was just in time too. Quan Chi had been informed that D'Vorah had the amulet and would be making her way to him. You mounted up on a demonic steed between Kitana and Sindel

"Shinnok will soon be free. We make for my fortress", Quan Chi ordered and without hesitation, the group sped off. Unbeknownst to you, Special Forces had made it into the Netherrealm and were waiting in ambush. When you approached the Krossroads, they opened fire. One of them managed to hit Kung Lao's mount and he fell off. You immediately got off your mount and helped him up. Another managed to hit Quan Chi's mount and he fell off too. Liu Kang hopped off and helped him get free. You fired at the Special Force, gunning down several of them. Kabal used his mount to decapitate many troops until another swordsman knocked him off his mount. One of the troops managed to score a hit on your shoulder. You threw your sword managing to slice several of them in half. You saw someone you were surprised was back to normal : Jax. But you didn't pay attention to him, instead you focused on keeping their attention away from Quan Chi. You looked over to Kitana to see her fighting someone in red, the unknown person trying to talk to her.

"It is possible to escape Quan Chi, Kitana. I can aid you, as Bi-Han aided me", she said. But Kitana didn't care.

"You became too familiar with Bi-Han

"You became too familiar with Bi-Han. Allowed emotion to corrupt you", she argued.

"Emotion freed me", the unknown person argued before fighting her again. Kitana knocked them down and was about to kill them before Jax intervened, saying he hated the things he did here but Kitana enjoyed being a revenant.

"It suits me. I am a victim no longer", she declared before she attacked Jax

"Yeah i know what you mean. But this aint the way to assert yourself", Jax replied. While the two fought, you focused on thinning out the ranks of the enemy to allow your allies a window to move forward to assist the others in getting Quan Chi to safety. Jax soon defeated Kitana and, after Liu Kang destroyed the soldiers in the way to the fortress, he picked up a rifle aiming it at the two. You watched as Sindel unleashed a powerful scream, knocking Jax off his feet and off the bridge where he barely managed to grab hold of a ledge. Using this moment you checked Kitana and helped her up before she rejoined the fight and you headed to the fortress to help Liu Kang and Quan Chi. You found Liu Kang helping Quan Chi sit down on a chair.

"In your weakened state Quan Chi, are you still able to release Shinnok?", you asked him with concern.

"I am more than capable", he replied

"And D'Vorah? Are you certain she is capable?", Liu Kang asked.

"She will bring the amulet to me", Quan Chi declared, before the three of you heard a voice saying "And i'll be waiting for her". You turned around to see Jax. You stepped back to shield Quan Chi as Liu Kang fought Jax.  Jax soon defeated Liu Kang with difficulty. You charged at him, but he also defeated you and knocked you out. When you came to, you saw the concerned face of Kitana looking at you. You slowly got up and looked behind you. You soon realised that Quan Chi had been captured, and you felt ashamed of yourself for your failure to protect him. Kitana placed a hand on your shoulder.

"You did well protecting him as best as you could, Y/N. Jackson Briggs is very powerful, you held your own for a long time.", she said trying to make you feel better. But even though it did cheer you up, you still felt you were weak in this form.

"What now?", you asked them

"Since Quan Chi has been captured, the most likely thing they'll do is try to force him to release us. But we will not allow it", Liu Kang said with malice and determination. You all began thinking of a plan of attack to free Quan Chi from the Special Forces. But you felt that with your weak flesh, you'd still hold them back....

Sorry it took so long. Homework had to be done. Question for you. I'm considering it so the reader's character dies and is resurrected before you meet Shinnok. You ok with a resurrection or not? If so, i have a few ideas.

1. Suicide, as you feel you're weak

2. Killed defending Quan Chi

3. Willingly letting Kitana kill you quickly and painlessly

4. Killed by Shinnok to increase your power (this one is after you meet him)
