Tom pov
"Looks to me like little Haylie told Lydia about our little trip to Atlanta." I turned and saw anchor standing next to me with her arms folded.
"You think." I said and anchor moved in front of me blocking my view from Haylie and Derek.
"Well, you know, since she's told Lydia... It's only fair that you tell Derek." She said shrugging her shoulders trying to seem casual. I folded my arms and gave her a look to let her know I wasn't buying whatever she was selling. "Of course if you don't want to be the bearer of bad news I'd be more than happy too..."
"What's it got to do with you?" I interrupted her. And she paused.
"Well, I literally have nothing else to do but ruin peoples lives." She chuckled.
"Thank you for your completely meaningless advice. But I think I'm going to deal with her my own way." I said and her smirk dropped as I made my way to Haylie and Derek. Once Derek saw me he obviously told Haylie I was approaching as she turned around and grabbed hold of Derek's lower arm. "Well that was interesting." I said with my teeth clenched.
"Look I don't know what's going on but I suggest you walk away tom." Derek said and I couldn't help but scoff.
"Oh so you had no problem telling Lydia but telling your own boyfriend isn't on the table huh?" Derek's head went to Haylie.
"Tell me what?" Haylie grabbed Derek tighter.
"Nothing, tom that's not what I..." She started but I cut her off.
"No you ruin my chance with Lydia why don't I ruin someone for you?"
"Just shut up tom!" She yelled at me making me smirk knowing I had got to her.
"Hey what's going on here?" The sheriff appeared after hearing his daughter yell. But we all decided to ignore him.
"Look who's telling who to shut up you little...." I was about to call her a bitch before Derek stepped in.
"You better watch what you say to her." He said and put a protective arm in front of her.
"What the hell is going on?" The Sheriff asked Haylie who just shrunk back behind Derek's arm.
"Yeah you better hope I watch what I say to her hale." I said stepping closer to him making his jaw clench. "Keep your girlfriend in check yeah?"
"Cool the testosterone guys." The sheriff said putting a hand on both of our shoulders. But once again he was ignored.
"She says one more bad thing about me to Lydia, and I'll say a few bad things about you." Derek's jaw clenched even more if it was possible.
"What's he talking about?" Haylie said to Derek who just shook his head. I turned to Haylie who I could tell was afraid of me at that point.
"Since you told Lydia about Atlanta I think you should tell Derek. And if you don't I will." I took a step closer to her making Derek stiffen. "And I guarantee I'll go into more detail." As I walked away I heard the sheriff ask for an explanation. Let's see if Derek and Haylie do become honest with each other.
Haylie pov
"Will one of you explain now." My dad said looking in between me and Derek as Derek let out the breath he was holding and I managed to get some distance from his protective stance.
"It's nothing dad." I said rubbing my neck.
"Don't give me that bull Haylie. Who was that and what was he talking about?" I could tell my dad was angry which meant he wasn't just going to let it go like he did with most things.
