Stiles pov
"Okay being realistic here, whoever has Josh is probably looking for Haylie because she's an anchor." Ethan said as we sat down at the table in the grill. Ethan sent Haylie home because we figure that was the only safe place for her. She couldn't be seen in public. So me, Ethan and sadly Derek decided to think of a plan.
"Isn't she like some special anchor though?"I said and Derek sighed. "So what type of person would want her for that reason?" I asked and Ethan scoffed.
"A werewolf."
"No," Derek started. "It has to be someone that knows Josh is her biological father." He said leaning back. "The only people that knew were my family, and the hunters." We went quite for a minute while thinking, then an idea came to my head.
"Has anyone seen Peter lately?" I asked looking at Derek who scoffed.
"It's not him." He said simply.
"When was the last time you saw him though?" Ethan asked and Derek's jaw clenched.
"Four days ago, right before Haylie broke up with me." He said shaking his head. "But he knows Haylie. So why would he be looking for her huh? It's not him." He said finally and I had to disagree.
"Okay one, Peter has tried killing all of us....including you. So what makes you so sure he really has given into the good side? He's related to you after all." I said and Derek glared at me before I continued. "And two, Deaton said whoever it was was looking for memories? Maybe Peter is looking for something Haylie knows." I suggested and Derek hit the table.
"It's not Peter!" He whisper yelled.
"Who else knew about the adoption then?" I asked and he tried to glare at me. "You said it yourself, the only people who know about the adoption is us, the hunters in town back then and your family. Aka Peter." Derek sat back and shook his head again.
"Look, I called Scott and Isaac. When they get here we can explain it to them and we can hunt for Josh by scent." Derek said not looking at me.
"I'll text Haylie and get Josh's address, we can get a lock on his scent from his apartment Ethan said pulling out his phone.
"No he moved remember? Before he left town he packed it up and left. She won't know where he's been saying since then." I said and he sighed dropping his phone on the table. "What about that locator spell," I suggested. "The one that anchor did to find that Stock guy."
"Yeah well I dunno about you stiles but I don't know that spell?" Derek said with his famous glare.
"Yeah but she got it from Deaton wolf boy." I said back. He quickly shook his head but Ethan spoke for him.
"I don't trust Deaton he knows more then he's saying I can tell." Ethan and Derek both sat up once the door to the grill opened. I turned and saw Scott walk in with Isaac behind. I scoffed and turned away from them.
"Okay so you guys go look for Josh, I'm gonna go home and look after Haylie. If anything happens I'll text." I said standing up and Scott stood in front of me blocking my way.
"Dude what's going on? You haven't answered any of my texts or my calls?" I scoffed and went to move past him but he grabbed my arm.
"Let go of me." I said and he did with a concerned look on his face. He knew I was serious which was rare for me. So he put his hands in his jacket pocket and I walked away. He knows why I'm mad, the all do. The only reason I can be around Derek and Ethan for more than ten minutes is because they're not my friends. They have no loyalty to me. Not like Lydia, Scott and Isaac. They had loyalty to me just like they did to Haylie.
The minute I walked into my house I got a bad feeling. "Haylie!" I yelled once I closed the door but I got no reply. "Haylie!" I yelled again running up the stairs again. I answer, I opened her bedroom door but saw her lying on the balcony, "oh my god Haylie!" I yelled again as I rushed and bent down next I her. I picked her up and brought her back to her bed. I opened her eyes and saw the white. It was happening again.Haylie pov
I opened my eyes and saw I was in the woods. It's happening again. I'm in one of Josh's memories. But where's Josh? "Stop!" I heard a familiar female voice yell. I ran towards where I heard it. I could hear running water and I heard the scream again except this time I heard the laughter in it.
I saw a light, since it was night I couldn't see much. But as I approached the light I realised it was an old Chevy truck with it's headlights on. "Josh I hate you!" I heard the laughter filled yell again. I saw two figures approach the truck and they stopped in the light as I saw Josh lift a female figure up by the waist and spin her around.
"Oh come on it was funny!" He laughed as he put her down. I stopped at a tree where I could see and hear Josh and Sarah. She turned around and hit him in the shoulder.
"I thought you were a werewolf. I'm sure you wouldn't still be laughing if I shot you." She said and he held up his fists.
"Shut up you know I could take you." He said pretending like he was getting ready to fight her. She laughed and punched him in the shoulder. Even though it was dark I could still see his eyes light up when she laughed. I couldn't help but smile as I watched them. Josh moved and sat down against a tree while Sarah stared to pace and look over the cliff. It was then I realised where I was. Beacon hills falls. I used to think of this as mine and Derek's place, maybe it was Sarah and Josh's too. "Hey baby can I ask you something?" Josh said watching her carefully.
"Of course you can." She said smiling with so much love towards him.
"Do you believe in love at first sight?" He asked as she sat down against the tree opposite him. She thought for a moment, her faint smile obvious in the light coming from the truck.
"No, I think you have to know someone to love them. Otherwise your just falling in love with their image." She said voicing my exact same opinion on the topic. Josh sighed.
"Well. You know how they say you make your opinion on someone after five minutes of knowing them?" He asked and she nodded playing with the hem of her dress. "Well maybe that's what they mean by love at first sight." She laughed and it seemed musical. I really wish I got the chance to know her.
"No, then you are just making the decision that this could be someone you have a crush on." She said and he sighed disappointed.
"Maybe you have to experience it to understand it" he said looking out onto the falls. I moved and sat down so I could watch them both.
"Well have you?" She asked standing up and leaning against the tree with her hands behind her back. Josh then smiled and stood up also leaning against the tree.
"Maybe." She smiled obviously knowing he was talking about her.
"Your lying." She said moving forward. "You can't fall in love after five minutes." She said and he move forward too.
"Okay how about five weeks?" He asked as he stood in front of her and moved hair away from her eyes making her blush. She looked away but he lightly grabbed her chin making her look at him. "I am in love with you Sarah Emma Jevens." He said and I saw the look in her eyes, the hope that it was real. That he really did love her. She smiled and so did he. I have never seen too people look at each other the way they were. Not Jackson and Lydia, not me and Derek. No one.
"I love you too Josh Benjamin Stevens." She replied unable to keep still. Because of the height difference Josh had to bend down quite a lot to kiss her gently on her mouth. She didn't see what I did. She didn't see Josh move his hands to wrap something around her neck, but she pulled away once she felt the cold silver hit her neck. She looked down at the necklace he had put around her. "Forever and always?" She said out loud reading the -inscription. I gasped.
"Oh my god." My hand went to my chest but the necklace wasn't there. It was at home in the box. The necklace I had worn because I thought my mother gave it to me.
"I had it made. I will love you forever and always."
My eyes shot open as I gasped for air. "Haylie?" I looked and saw Stiles sat next to my bed.
"I need water." I said with a croaky throat and he quickly passed me a glass that was on the table next to my bed. I downed all of it and fell back on my bed. "I'm guessing they haven't found him then?" I asked and stiles lay down next to me.
"No, I called and let them know that it was happening again and they've split up around town looking. It's harder though." He said with a sigh. "They only got a faint scent from his old apartment." I nodded. And shot up.
"My neckless." I went to my box in the closet and pulled out the box of memories. I rummaged past the dresses and the pictures.
"What neckless?" Stiles asked moving to a sitting position. I lifted it up and showed him.
"This neckless." I said and held it while I moved back to the bed. "Josh gave it to Sarah. It was hers, she must have given it to me before she died." I said and went to put it on but stiles stopped me.
"No, everyone's said that neckless can identify you. If this guy isn't Peter then..." I interrupted him.
"Peter! You think it's Peter?" I asked shocked and stiles sighed.
"Derek said the only people that knew you and Josh were related were the hunters in town at the time and his family." Stiles explained, "also nobody has seen him for four days."
"Why would Peter be looking through my brain?" I asked and he shrugged.
"Maybe you know something that he wants."
"We just need to find out where he is then."
