"So this is where you been hiding.” a voice said sitting down in front of me. I looked up from my history textbook just as Blake sat down on the bench opposite me.

“What do you mean I’m here?” I shrugged and folded my arms on the table.

“You weren’t here yesterday, and you’ve been sat here looking at the same text book since I walked into school this morning. You weren’t in Econ. And I overheard your friend Lydia talking to your brother.” I scoffed but then sighed.

“What did you overhear?” I asked and he shrugged while pulling out a packet of cigarettes. “You’re not allowed to smoke on school grounds.” I stated once he put one in his mouth.

“I do a lot of things I’m not allowed to sweetheart.” He said cockily and lit it up. “They were saying how you haven’t been answering their calls or haven’t seen them in a few days.” He said and folded his arms on the table like I had. I moved back to get away from the smoke.

“I’ve been a little busy.” He looked a little cautious as he wouldn’t meet my eyes when he spoke next.

“Are you okay?” He asked a little strained. “It’s just you look kinda…” he hesitated obviously not knowing what word to use.

“Kinda what?” I snapped accidently. His eyes came up and met mine.

“Sad.” He said and I sighed. “You just look kinda sad.” He lent back and slouched on the bench. “Which is strange because since I’ve been here you’ve always been smiling or laughing and pretty much the happiest girl I’ve ever known.” For the first time in days my lips started to twitch genuinely. Which made a huge grin spread on his face. “Oh there it is.” He said causing me to blush and nod.

“I’m fine. Thanks for your concern but there’s just a lot going on right now. It’s sort of stressing me out.” I confessed and he nodded while taking a drag.

“I may not look like a good listener but I am.” He said while looking anywhere but me again. “If you want to talk about it to an outsider I could listen?” He said and I heard his feet start to shuffle from under the table.

“Thanks.” I said and he looked up to me again. “But I think it’s something I need to sort out on my own.” He nodded seeming a little disappointed. So I changed the subject. “So I saw you with Rebecca Simon this morning.” I said and he smirked. “Are you two dating or something?” I asked and he chuckled while shaking his head.

“You know, she’s one of those girls who’s good in the sack but that’s about it.” I couldn’t help but scoff and shake my head while I looked back down to my text book.

“I should have known you were one of those guys.” I said and starting studying again.

“What guys?” He asked, but answered for me. “The type of guy that sleeps with anything with a pulse but then dumps her the next day?” I looked back up to him, showing that I agreed, and his frown turned into a grin. “Yeah I am one of those guys.” I shook my head again and looked back down. “But I really am a good listener.” He said and grabbed one of my pens. “So,”
