I stood up from the shower floor when I heard a knock on the door. "Haylie it's Deaton. You can come out now." I quickly turned the shower off and pulled my jumper and jeans back on. I opened the door and Deaton was sitting on my couch.
"What the hell is going on?" I asked and he sighed.
"It seems that Simon has figured that since your in town he can track you by the anchor scent." I shrugged.
"What do you mean?"
"Anchors give off a special aroma. That's why werewolves are attracted to them to begin with. He's used a spell to amplify it. He's trying to find you by that scent." I nodded understanding.
"Okay but what happened with tom and Ethan? Tom attacked me and if Ethan didn't walk in when he did...." I trailed off hating the thought of it.
"They can explain it better than I can. They're downstairs." He stood up. "Before we go, I need you to dry yourself a bit more. There's certain things that if they see or hear they could lose control." He said as I grabbed a towel and started drying my hair a bit more.
"Like what?" I asked.
"Don't say they're names, don't groan or moan..."
"Why would I moan?" I asked and he continued, ignoring me.
"Don't do anything that would normally attract a male to you. And don't. Touch. Them. I'm only a vet I can't do anything if they attack you." I nodded.
"Okay, this sounds kinda dangerous. Are you sure I should be around either of them?" I asked and he thought for a moment.
"You probably shouldn't." He confessed. "But I'm afraid you need their protection right now. Maybe Lydia can find a way to hide the spell. Conceal your scent." I nodded and he motioned for me to leave the bedroom.
"Is tom at least tied to a chair." I tried to joke but when I walked into the dinning room I saw that tom and Ethan were both in fact tied to chairs. "Oh"
"It's just a precaution." Deaton said and I nodded.
"Haylie I..." Tom started but looked away not knowing what to say.
"Have you heard from Peter?" Ethan asked looking away from me. Neither of them could look at me for more than a few seconds. I shook my head.
"No, I've been in the shower since you told me to." I said and Ethan let out a small growl. "What did I say?" I asked stepping back a bit. Deaton held my shoulders from behind.
"It's the idea of you doing what he tells you." I nodded sort of understanding. "And the thought of you in the shower." He said with a chuckle. Although I didn't see the humour in this situation.
"Look guys, I think it's best if you ask Lydia to take the spell down." I said mainly to Ethan. "Just incase I do need to make a quick escape." I said. Still neither of them could look at me though.
"Grab my phone and put her on loudspeaker." He said and I went to walk towards him but he stiffened in his chair. "Deaton! Deaton you do it. It's in my front pocket." I quickly stepped back again. Tom chuckled.
"I think this is the first time I've seen you without full control." He commented and Ethan glared.
"Do you really want to talk about self control right now?" He replied and tom made the mistake of looking at me. He paused for a second and his lips slightly parted. "Tom?" Ethan said once he realised tom was staring at me. He quickly looked away.
"Sorry, It just feels like..."
"Your seeing her for the first time." Ethan finished still looking away.
