Chapter 10

"Oh you wanna to back inside?!" Derek yelled laughing.

"Yes put my down!" I yelled through my genuine laughter.

"Put you down?" He froze and my grip on his neck got tighter.

"No! No dont put me down!" I yelled crying with laughter.

"Oh screw this!" He yelled before jumping of the ledge and it to the freezing lake for the tenth time that day. We swam back up to the surface and he had a huge smile on his face making me smile. "You said to put you down, you just didn't say where," he said swimming over to me. I splashed him and swam away. "Oh now your dead." He said making me laugh and swim faster until I reached the area where I could stand.

"I need to get ready for dinner tonight!" I yelled as he started running through the water. "Derek!" I screamed through my laughter as he grabbed my by the waist and threw me over his shoulder. "What are you doing?!" I laughed as he started walking back into the deep area of the lake.

"You know dinners in an hour right?" Derek turned around to the voice which I couldn't see.

"Don't worry, it only takes me 10 minutes to get ready!" He yelled back dropping me into the lake. I came back up and dunked his head under.

"Yeah but it takes me an hour asshole!" I laughed when he came back up and I swam away but this time he didn't try to stop me. Amy was standing by our towels.

"It's quite hot in the cabin, you might want to wear a dress or shorts or something." I nodded grabbing the towel and drying off.

"Okay thanks." I said and she was staring at Derek as he came out the water and grabbed his towel. I wasn't jealous since she was only 14, but I knew it would make him uncomfortable. So I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the cabin. "We will see you in an hour amy." I yelled and she went back to her cabin.

"I feel exposed." Derek said as we walked up to the bedroom still drying off. "What are you wearing tonight?" He asked as he opened his bag.

"Amy said it's hot in the cabin so probably a dress." I said and he nodded.

"Still bring a jacket though, it might still get cold." He said being almost like a parent. I shook my head and went into the bathroom to change into my white summer dress.

"I'll trust amy on this, I'll be fine." I said and changed into my summer dress. "Is my hair dryer out there?" I asked and he didn't answer. I opened the door and saw him looking at my phone. "What's wrong?" I asked. he didn't look up at me.

"I'm free at 3 am. Thought I'd let you know I watched Shrek, we definitely need to talk. My opinions are endless." He read out from my phone. "What is this?" He asked looking up. "Who's Blake, Haylie?" He asked sitting on the bed.

"You need to stop going through my phone" I said and continued to grab my hair dryer.

"Don't change the subject." He said following me to the bathroom. "Who is this guy and why is he wanting to talk to you at 3am?" He asked and I shrugged.

"He's a friend." I said and plugged my hair dryer in.

"Just a friend?" I paused and looked up at him through the mirror. "Are you seeing someone else?" He asked and I spun around feeling furious. "Is that why you've been acting so strangely lately?" He asked getting me more angry by the second. I hid my anger unlike him.

"No." I answered simply. "I'm not cheating on you. And that's not why I've been acting strange lately." I said and turned back to the mirror.

"Then what is this?" He asked with a sigh.
