"You Okay, momma? You okay?"Amari put her hand on Damita's forehead.
"Yes baby. I'm okay."Damita chuckled and pulled her blankets back. "Come take a nap with mommy."
"Momma-a-a I not sleepy."Amari sighed and rolled her like she always sees her mom do.
"If you goto sleep, I'll buy you some candy."Damita tried to reason with her child.
"I no waan candy mommy. I want ice cream."Amari crossed her arms.
"Ok well, if you goto sleep I'll buy you some ice cream."Damita picked her up and put her under the blankets.
Amari quickly laid down on her mother's chest and pretended to sleep. She started to snore.
"Girl you are a mess."Damita laughed.
"No momma. You a mess."Amari laughed and pointed at her mom.
"Do you have to potty?"Damita asked and Amari shook her head.
"Are you sure?"Damita asked again. Amari shook her head again.
"Alright. If you pee in my bed you're getting a spanking. So if you don't want your ass whupped, I suggest you try to pee."Damita warned her and she quickly jumped out of the bed.
"You ain't gone whup nobody."Amaru walked into the room.
"Shut Up. I'll whup you too."Damita rolled her eyes. "Amari? You okay? You need any help?"Damita checked on Amari.
"Yes mommy."Amari yelled back.
"Don't forget to wash your hands, honey."Damita reminded her.
"I can't reach it."Amari sighed.
Damita got out of the bed and picked Amari up to help her wash her hands.
"Tank you mommy. gimme kisses."Amari dried her hands and stuck her lips out.
Damita leaned down and started to kiss Amari all over her face. "You Love mommy's kisses?"
"Yes. Gimme more."Amari giggled and Damita kept at it.
"I love you, mommy."Amari smiled and kissed Damita on the cheek.
"How much?"Damita smiled.
"Too much."Amari smiled and Damita picked her up.
"Oh but I love you so much more. You make mommy a better person and you make me happy. Especially when your daddy is making me upset."Damita tapped her nose and kissed her one more time. Amari didn't really understand what she was saying, but she knew it was a good think.
"I ready to goto sleep now."Amari put her arms around her neck and laid on her shoulder.
Damita took her back to the bed and they laid down. Amari laid on Damita's chest and quickly fell asleep.
"What did the doctor say?"Amaru asked.
"Nothing important. Just take my vitamins. I'm only a month as of now. There isn't really anything to discuss."Damita rubbed on Amari's back.
"I'm guessing you're still mad at me."Amaru sighed.
"I didn't say that. I'm just answering your question. How would I be still mad if we just had sex this morning before you left."Damita put her arms around Amari and let her sleep.
"That doesn't mean anything. You've been here all day and had time to sit and think about it. Therefore you could still be mad."Amaru laid behind her and put his arms around her waist. "I'm apologizing know. I want to take full responsibility for what I've been doing. My vow to myself has always been to keep you happy and I haven't been doing that, so I apologize."
"Okay."Damita closed her eyes.
"Do you accept my apology?"Amaru asked her.
"No. It's greatly appreciated, but if you'd like me to stay off of you about it your actions should change. You can apologize to me all day, but that doesn't mean anything. Show me, don't tell me."Damita shifted in his arms.
"So this is what the two of you do all day. Sleep?" Amaru asked, not able to fall asleep so quickly.
"Yes and I'd appreciate it if you be quiet so that we're able to."
Damita fell asleep, but Amaru didn't. He was taking what she said into consideration.
He didn't want her to unhappy and she was showing him that no matter how much she loved him that she'd leave him. She had let him slide too many times.
"Baby?"Amaru whispered to her.
"What?"Damita asked irritability. Amaru knew how she felt about sleep.
"I love you, baby."He kissed her on the cheek.
"Mmhm. I love you too."Damita replied and closed her eyes again. "Can you do me favor?"
"What is it baby?"Amaru quickly stood. He was willing to do anything to get on her good side at this point.
"Get my heating pad."Damita sighed and picked up Amari. She put her on her own pillow because she didn't want to wake her.
"What's wrong?"Amaru rubbed his hands through her hair.
"My back hurts."Damita grimaced and turned around to lay on her stomach.
"That's from carrying Amari around all day. She can walk."Amaru laughed and Damita rolled her eyes at him. "No, it's because your stupid ass got me pregnant again."
"Don't blame me. You don't let me pull out."Amaru laughed and she rolled her eyes again. "Stop talking to me."
He had went to go get the heating pad like she had asked him to then put it on her back.
"Did you tell the doctor about your back?"Amaru asked.
"Yes. He said that I probably just need rest, but all I do is rest. Amari and I lay in bed all day. He said if I'm still having back pain by month three then he'll see what he can do."Damita replied.
"See what he can do? Hell nah. He need to do something now. The fuck."Amaru started to get mad. "This why you need to go back to Dr.Anderson. She know what the fuck she talking about."
"We can't afford her right now."Damita sighed and tried to go back to sleep.
Amaru started to rub small circles on her back. "Is this helping?"
Damita nodded her head and started to go back to sleep.
