Damita quietly closed the door as stumbled through their apartment. It was 6 a.m. and almost time for Amaru to get up. She was very drunk and probably couldn't defend herself in an argument.
She slowly pulled off her heels and laid on their couch thinking he wouldn't know what time she got back. Especially if he had to leave for practice soon. She had time to get herself together.
She laid back on the couch and before she knew it, she was asleep.
Hours later, she woke up in bed with Amaru sitting down on the floor playing his game. She looked at the time, it was 3 o'clock. She had missed all her classes.
Damita sighed, before climbing out of bed to wash her face and brush her teeth. After she was done she walked to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water.
"Did you eat already?"She asked Amaru as she walked back into the bedroom.
"Yup."He replied dryly.
She mentally rolled her eyes at his attitude. "So you have an attitude?"
Amaru ignored her and continued to play his game.
"Can you please pause the game so we can talk at least?"Damita stood in front of him.
He stared at her to see if she'd move when she didn't, he paused the game. "What?"He threw the controller down.
"I'm sorry that I came back as late as I did. I honestly wasn't even paying attention to the time. It was —"She stopped speaking when she saw him get up. That's all how she knew how mad he was. If be couldn't get his point across sitting down, she knew she had fucked up.
"Who were you with?"Amaru asked her. He was calm, but not in a good way.
"I was with Chanel."Damita stared up at him.
"And who else?"Amaru crossed his arms.
"That's it, daddy, I swear."Damita's eyes began to water.
"So why the fuck I'm getting calls that you had some nigga in your face? Don't lie to me, bro. You know I hate that."Amaru clenched his jaws.
"That's not what you asked me. He wasn't with us. He just bought me a couple of drinks, baby. That's it. I told him I had a man."Damita's heart started beating fast.
Amaru stood there glaring at her trying to see if she'd look away. If she broke eye contact, she was lying. "Did you dance with him?"
"Yes."Damita's eyes watered. "That's it! All we did was dance I swear to god baby."She grabbed his hand.
"Red room, right?"Amaru raised an eyebrow.
Damita nodded her head.
"They close at 2:00."Amaru pulled away from her.
"We picked up T and went to an after hour spot in South Central. After that, we went to get food."
"Why you so nervous if you ain't did nothing wrong?"Amaru raised an eyebrow.
"I told you what happened."Damita rolled her eyes. "You don't have a reason to be mad or not to trust me."
"I don't have a reason to be mad?"Amaru raised his voice once again. "That shit you did was irresponsible. You missed all your classes. You had shit to do today!"
"Stop talking to me like I'm your child because I'm not!"Damita raised her voice. "I might call you daddy, but I left mine at his mansion in Bel-Air."
"Well, you act like a child so my bad for getting confused."Amaru shrugged and walked away from her.
"You sit and play video games all day, yet I'm the child?"Damita chuckled. "Right."
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"Amaru followed her to the kitchen.
"Whatever you want it to mean."Damita opened the refrigerator.
"You got me fucked up."Amaru closed the refrigerator and pointed at her.
"No, you got me fucked up."Damita pushed him. "What do you even mean you're getting calls about me? You got somebody watching me?"
"I got eyes everywhere baby. Better watch yourself."Amaru jokingly blew her a kiss.
"Why? Why do you feel the need to keep eyes on me? If anything I need eyes on you."Damita threw her water bottle at him. "You the one who's always out doing God knows fucking what."
"This ain't about me."
"Now it is. Since you feel like I just cannot be trusted. Where the hell were you last night?"Damita cocked her head to the side.
"I smoked and played basketball with Mike."Amaru shrugged.
"If I call Mike right now and ask can he confirm that?"Damita crossed her arms.
"Yep."Amaru laughed.
"Lying ass."Damita rolled her eyes and pushed him. "Stupid bald head ass."
Damita slammed their bathroom door and locked so she could take a shower alone.
Amaru went back to playing his game.
Damita finished her shower and got dressed in the bathroom. She put on a baseball cap and put it on her head. She then grabbed her keys and walked out if the room.
Amaru quickly shot up to follow her. "Where you going?"
"To mind my business."Damita opened the door and Amaru closed it back.
"See what I mean? A child."Damita bit down on her lip. "Move because I have to tutor somebody at 6:00."
"You missed everything else. Might as well stay home."He locked the front door.
"Why the fuck you always want to play?"Damita went to grab the doorknob and he grabbed her hand.
Damita's nostrils flared as she rubbed her temples. "I'm about to punch your ass."
"Answer the phone."Damita gritted her teeth.
"Machine could get it."He shrugged.
Hi Damita, its Ashley. I know you're supposed to tutor me at 6:00, but I'm a little under the weather today, so can we reschedule? I don't wanna get you and boyfriend sick.
"Looks like you're staying home with me."Amaru smiled like a Cheshire cat.
"You don't have shit better to do but fuck with me. Find a hobby."Damita started to walk away from him.
"I have a hobby."He ran behind Damita and picked her up. He threw her on the bed and stood between his legs.
"You're so stupid."Damita took her hat off and sat it on the nightstand.
"Whatever you ain't gon be talking that shit in a few minutes."Amaru pulled off her pants.
Damita started to say something, but Amaru stopped that by inserting a finger in her core. "Yeah, yeah shut that shit up."
