CAUTION: this did not happen. It's just an alternate ending. This is how Til' Death was going to end at first.
"Did I tell you Katherine left a message on the machine? She said she heartbroken that we didn't bring the babies to her for Christmas. She knew we weren't coming all the way over there to be bored."Damita closed the mirror and crossed her arms.
"That's what she said?"Amaru looked at his wife and started laughing. "You didn't call her back?"
"No. I don't want to talk to her right now. I might call her tomorrow. I gotta give her some time to get over it."Damita rolled her eyes and stared out of the window.
"You a mess, man."Amaru laughed.
"Baby, watch out."Damita grabbed the steering wheel to try to fix his mistake. Damita's all black BMW spun out to the middle of the street. Amaru grabbed his steering wheel and straightened up before driving again.
"Daddy, have you been drinking? I think you should let me drive home."Damita started to rub on his hand.
"Nah, baby I got it. That car just got too close."Amaru breathed heavily. Damita became silent and just looked at him. She didn't want to talk to him anymore so that he wouldn't get distracted.
"Baby don't be scared. I got you."Amaru smiled at her and grabbed her hand. "I love you."
"I love you too."Damita smiled at him and squeezed his hand.
Amaru kept his hand on the wheel and his eyes on the road. "This car has been behind us for a long time."Amaru checked his mirrors. "You think they following us?"
Damita sat up in her seat and turned around to look out the back window. Their face wasn't visible. The person wore a black hoodie and a mask. "Their definitely following us. Let me drive."Damita took off her seatbelt.
"Baby, no. I don't want you to get hurt."Amaru protested.
"Let me drive."Damita climbed over the seat and sat down in the driver's seat. Amaru quickly moved to the passenger seat while the car was on cruise control.
Damita hurriedly adjusted the seat the way she needed to and switched off cruise control. She looked at the person through mirror making sure their eyes met. "You wanna play? Let's play."Damita switched gears and pressed hard on the gas.
"Baby...you going too fast."Amaru warned her. They were two totally different drivers. Amaru drove with caution. Damita drove reckless and had terrible road rage.
"I got this."Damita made a quick turn then another one. She was doing 95 when the speed limit was 75. "Are they still behind us?"Damita looked straight at the road.
"No we good."Amaru sighed in relief.
"What the fuck! This is a one way street."Damita jerked the steering wheel to dodge a car coming towards them. She pulled to the other side of the road when another car hit them the from behind making Damita's car crash into a tree and flip over.
Both men got out of the car and walked over to the scene. They walked over to Damita's car to look at her and her husband's injuries.
"It's done."The second man spoke on his cellphone. They put their masks back on and left the scene.
A young driving by noticed the scene and notified the ambulance. They came quick, along with the police and fire fighters.
"There's a woman in the driver's seat."One of the firemen yelled.
Damita's car was totaled and they almost couldn't get her out. The firemen had to break her windows in order to pull her unconscious body out the car. She had blood leaking from her forehead and her nose.
They got her on the stretcher and the cops searched what was left of the car for ID. "I found a purse chief."One of the officers spoke as he rambled through it.
"Damita Jo Shakur, 28 years old."He handed the other officer Damita's driving license.
In the back of the ambulance they cleaned Damita's nose and put her on oxygen, sending her into shock. She quickly opened her eyes and started to look around.
"The victim is alive!"One of the ambulance members screamed out of the door.
A police officer immediately ran over to her to ask her questions. "Can you hear me?"He asked Damita.
Damita nodded her head.
"I'm going to ask you a few questions. Is that okay?"
She nodded her head again.
"What's your name?"
"D-Damita."She stumbled.
"Ok, Damita. Where were you going?"He asked her.
"My husband and I...where is my husband?"Damita panicked. "Is he okay?"
"I didn't see anybody else in the car with you. Are you sure he was with you?"He asked her.
"No he was in the car! Where is he?"Damita became irate and upset.
"Ma'am, I need you to calm down. Your heart rate is dropping."They turned up her oxygen. "We have to take you to the emergency room."
"NO! I'm not leaving without my husband. Find him."Damita yelled as tears rolled down her face. "WHERE IS HE?"She yelled at them.
Her breathing became unsteady and she could no longer catch her breath.
She was having a panic attack.
"Get her out of here while she's still alive!"The officers yelled and they connected her to oxygen once again. They shut the doors and rushed her to the hospital.
"Sir. I found the husband. I'm thinking he didn't have his seatbelt on."The younger cop spoke. Amaru's body had been ejected almost 5 inches away from the car. "We have to notify the ambulance."
"No. I'll handle him. You go up to the hospital, see what the wife knows. If anyone asks he's DOA."The chief replied as pulled his cell phone out of his pocket.
"But sir.. "He's DOA! Go!"He waited until his partner was far away and made the call.
"I've got him."
The other cop rushed to the hospital to ask Damita questions about the accident. He walked in and sat down next to Damita's bed.
"Mrs.Shakur."He grabbed onto her hands. "What happened?"
Damita didn't speak. She crossed her arms and stared at him. A tear eased its way down her face and she wiped it away.
"Get out of my room."Damita sniffled and wiped her eyes. "I don't want you in here questioning me. Get out."
"I'm sorry about your husband, ma'am."He pat her on the shoulder and started to walk out.
"What?"Damita clenched her jaws.
"I said I'm sorry about your husband. They didn't tell you, he was DOA."He explained.
"No! Nobody brought him here, you couldn't even find him. How is he dead? How?"Damita screamed at him. "My husband is not dead."Damita wiped her eyes again. "My husband is not dead."Damita became more irritated. She climbed out of her hospital bed and started throwing things. "GET OUT!"Damita punched the wall. "Get out."
The nurses ran into the room. "Sir. You have to leave. You're upsetting the patient and she doesn't want to speak anymore."
Damita started to have another panic attack. Her chest healed up and down as the nurses tried to force her back in bed.
"No! Get off of me. Get off of me."Damita tried to fight the nurses off. "I need him, I need my baby. He's not dead."Damita dropped to her knees and started to cry.
Never finished it because I didn't like it. The other ending was better to me 🤷🏾♀️
