Damita tossed and turned laying on several different positions trying to get comfortable.
"Baby? What's wrong."Amaru woke up from her moving so much.
"My stomach hurts."Damita put her hand on her stomach. She started breathing heavily before crying.
Amaru rubbed his hand across her stomach. "is this helping?"
Damita started breathing in and out to see if that would help.
"No. It still hurts."She continued to cry and Amaru held her.
"Do you want to goto the hospital?"Amaru tried to comfort her the best way he knew how.
"No, no. I'm okay,"Damita sighed and turned on her side.
She was now almost 5 months pregnant and her stomach was growing every day.
"Are you sure?"Amaru asked her again.
Damita closed her eyes and started breathing heavily. "You can take me."
Amari was with her grandmother for the night so they didn't have to wake her up. He helped her into the car and took her to the hospital.
Amaru checked her in at the hospital and they sat in the waiting room. They took forever to call her name and Amaru was getting pissed.
"Man what the fuck? We been sitting in this waiting room almost an hour. What the fuck going on?"Amaru yelled at the woman who was at the front desk.
"Sir calm down. We'll call your wife soon as we can."The woman replied.
"My wife is pregnant. She's over there crying because her stomach hurts. Is there nothing you can do? We don't even know what's going on."Amaru tried to take a more sensitive approach.
"I'll page a doctor sir."The woman said and went back to typing on the computer. Amaru stood there and watched her until she did what he asked.
Finally, she picked up the phone and told the doctor she needed him. She had an emergency.
A tall Indian man came into the lobby and walked up to Amaru. "What's going on?"He asked.
"My wife's stomach hurts. She's pregnant."Amaru sighed.
"How many months?"He asked in his thick Indian accent.
"She's 4 1/2 months."Amaru told him.
He got a wheelchair and they put Damita in it , pushing her into a room.
"Can you tell me what the pain feels like?"He asked.
"It feels like someone is squeezing on stomach."Damita sniffled.
"On a scale from 1 to 10, how bad does it hurt?"He asked.
"10."Damita sighed.
They took her to the room and Amaru picked her to put her in the hospital bed.
The doctor left out of the room and Damita changed out of clothes to put on the hospital gown.
