Luke sat in his bathtub, his hand lay in front of him with a clump of his hair. It'd been three months since he'd started chemo, and he had good days and bad days. Today was a bad day.

Luke leant his head against the tiled wall, staring at the lump of hair in his palm. It was really happening, his hair was going. And so soon too.

Luke gulped before he dropped the hair in to the bath. He climbed out of the tub and wrapped a towel around his body. He bent down and rooted around the cabinet before pulling out the electric razor. He pulled it in and turned it on, staring at the buzzing razor.

"Fuck." Luke muttered before he went straight through the middle of his hair with the razor. Luke watched it fall to the sink, then looked at the mirror and slapped his hand over his mouth as he snickered. Oh god he looked like an idiot.

Luke wiped at his face before continuing with his hair, he couldn't get it all perfect so he settled when he'd gone once over.

He turned off the razor and went to his bedroom, pulling on Reece's shirt and boxers and hoody. Luke then went downstairs, pulling the hood over his head.

He found Reece in the kitchen cooking dinner. Luke went up behind Reece and held his waist. Reece smiled, leaning his head back against Luke's shoulder, "What's up babydoll?"

"It happened." Luke said softly.

"What happened?"

"Look at me." Luke said, letting Reece go.

Reece turned around and saw Luke had his hood up, so he pushed it away and gasped. Reece covered his mouth, "oh baby." Reece muttered.

Luke frowned, "I fucking love my hair, I didn't wanna see it slowly fall out." He said, running his hands through the short buzz cut. "I look stupid."

"No you don't," Reece said, "I think you look just as beautiful."

Luke pouted, "I shaved it straight down the middle and I laughed, is that bad?"

"Not at all." Reece smiled, pulling Luke in to a hug, "hair or no hair, you still look sexy."

Luke smiled, "I better be, you're stuck with me, hair or not."

Reece chuckled, "I wouldn't want it any other way."

"Now you can't pull my hair when we fuck," Luke added, "you liked to do that, especially when I sucked you off."

Reece pulled from the hug, "that's what you think of?"

"Well yeah, I gotta think about you too."

"Dude you have cancer," Reece scoffed.

Luke stared at Reece in surprise, "that was—"

"Insensitive and mean, but Luke you have cancer, your hair is gone, who cares if I tug your hair when your mouth is on my dick." Reece shook his head, "you're a bloody dork." He kissed Luke then, smiling, "I'll love you any way."

Luke smiled shyly, "Jack's gonna think it's weird, Jess too."

"They won't care." Reece tutted, "chill, now go sit on the sofa, I'm making your favourite."

"Ooh okay daddy." Luke teased, Reece slapping his bum as he left the kitchen.

A bad thing could always turn in to a good thing. Reece didn't care that Luke's hair was gonna go, he didn't love Luke for his hair, he loved Luke for Luke and his stupid self. Cancer wouldn't change that.
