Dinner

"Chresanto POV"

It's Saturday night, and Mari and I are having dinner at her moms house. I don't know why but I'm  nervous.

"Come in and have a seat" says Erica Mari's mom. We did just that. "Mom where's dad?" Says Shamoni walking out her room. "He will miss tonights dinner he's not feeling to well he's in bed sick,so he's having soup and crackers" says Mari's mom.

We wash our hands, and gather around the table. Mom in-law says grace and we all eat. "Are you guys going to prom?" Says Money. "Actually we haven't talked about it, but I'm sure were going to go" I say grabbing Mari's hand.

"Of course were going" she says kissing my lips. "Do you have a twin brother? "Asks Money. "Get off his tip Money" Mari says laughing I know my baby is fine. Everyone laughs, and continues eating. "I wish mom would let me go to public school, the people and guys at my school are boring" says Money. "Ain't gonna happen" says Ms. Erica.

"Ma you never let me do nothing" says Money.  "That's cause its too much going on out there in these streets" says Ms. Erica. "I guess ma may I be excused? " says Money leaving the table. "I didn't say yes" Ms. Erica yells up to Money shaking her head.

"Shamari POV"

Dinner was over Chresanto was on the computer.  "Mom can we talk?" I ask her pulling her to the side. "What's up baby doll?" Says mom. "I wanted to talk to you about Money, I know you have her in private school, and won't let her do anything because of your fear of her becoming like I was. Before you say anything ma I know thats what it is.

I may have left home at a young age and ended up living with an older guy that you didn't approve of. I know mom but Money is money and I am me.  We aren't the same people shes into boys, but shes more into books.

I admit my judgement on Mike was wayyyy wrong, Im sorry for not.listening to you mom, but don't let Money suffer for my mistakes it's not fair. "I know, I'll consider letting up on her some, because I am just a little hard on her" says mom.

"I don't mean to be I just don't want to feel like I failed both of my daughters. I failed you I can't fail her" says mom crying her eyes out.

"Mommy you didn't fail me, don't cry" I say comforting her. "I did I did, cause if I didn't you never would've left home, and my beautiful baby would've never got mistreated the way you did" she say still crying.

"Mom that wasn't your fault, I have my own mind you raised me and Money to excuse my language, but not take shit from any nigga. Never depend on no man as you use to say. I was the dummy ma I let Mike brain wash me the first time he hit me to thinking it was a accident, then from accident to he hit me cause it's my fault" I said to her.

"Then I still stayed there like an idiot, because he kept telling me he was going to change, and that he wouldn't do it anymore and he never did, then one day I got fed up and now I'm here" I explain.

"Your so strong baby I hate you endured that pain, but I'm proud of you for being strong" says my mom hugging me tightly. "I love you ma" i say.  "I love you too" she says wipping her tears.
