~At the Go-kart place~
Jon"Alright, you guys fill out this question thing real quick and think of a racer name, and I'll go talk to my guys." I told them, after showing what they had to do. I went off and to the front desk.
"Oh my God it's Jon!" Joey yelled, practically jumping the counter to crush me in a hug.
"Jon? Guys it's Jon!" I heard Jack yell. Joey let go, but only to be crushed in a bigger hug by Jack, Daniel, Mark and Ethan.
"Dude I thought you'd never come back!" Daniel said.
"None of us did." Mark added.
"I know. I need to come more often," I laugh when they all nodded frantically. "Well, I'm here now. And I brought some friends." I pointed at said friends. "We took the day off, so be prepared to be seeing us around all day."
"All day, any day. Beside, we know how you race and all that shit. We just have to learn theirs now huh? Bet they'll be here a lot, if they're with you anyway." Jack smiled. "So, where they racing first?"
"Put them upstairs with me. I'm going up there to say hi to everyone as well. Introduce yourselves and tell them where I'm at, yeah?" They nodded and we split.
"Can I have heat number seventy-two to the gate for orientation! Heat number seventy-two to the gate for orientation!" Came a voice over the speakers. I walked over to the bar first.
"Hey Amy!" I said when her back was turned, she spun around and had a big grin on her face.
"Oh my god Jon!" She ran around the bar and gave me a hug. "I've missed you. It's been pretty boring without you here." She let go, but still had that smile spread across her face. "That, and you made sure there was no drama."
"Has there been drama?" I asked.
"There was. Between Mark and Ethan. I don't know everything that happened but it was something about how Ethan said Mark could do better than Jack and that just started them yelling and fighting. That's what I heard anyway. I don't know if it's fixed."
"Well, I'll talk with them. And if things like that happen you can always call me."
"Thanks Jon. Oh, I gotta get back to work. You staying until close?" I nodded my head. "Alright, I see you later than."
"Alright. Bye Amy." She went back behind the bar.
"Last call for heat number seventy-two! Last call for heat number seventy-two!" I looked across the room and saw Molly, Wade and Dan. I walked over and stood at the gate.
"Where's Phil? Did he ditch you guys again?" All three turned to me, and all but Dan ran up to me. Dan was getting the karts out and starting the race. You know, his job. Molly and Wade leaned over the gate to give hugs. "Really thought, where is Phil?" I asked, Dan now joining us.
"Lunch," Dan said. "But what're you doing here? I haven't seen you in like, 4 years."
"Oh okay. And I was just hanging out with friends and we decided to go go-karting. And so—" I was cut off by a loud crash, I looked and I panicked for no more than a second. By then I had jumped the gate, pushed past the three, and out the track. Two of the three followed quickly behind. There was this super rare case when one kart will land on top of another.
I lifted the kart up slightly, Dan and Wade helped lift it and set it down. "Are you okay?" I asked the two drivers.
"Yeah! Can we still race?" One answered.
"Yeah. Can I get out thought?" The other answered. I nodded and helped the one guy out.
"Wade, can you take the kart back, and make sure nothings broke?" He nodded, got in it and drove off. The guy that wanted out took his helmet off and walked back with me and Dan. "I am so sorry for what happened."
"It's okay. I'm not that hurt. Could be worst." The guy said.
"Yeah but still. Umm, to make some of it up though, we'll give you 6 extra races and three meals free. Does that sound okay?" I asked. He nodded, thanking us, and left for the bar. The race started again and I made Dan go downstairs and do what I said I would do for the driver.
"Is everything okay?" Molly asked. I nodded, explaining everything to her. "Well that's good. So, you going to race yet?"
"Well duh! Can you put me in the next heat(race)? Oh, and three other, two new racers?"
"Yeah. Who's racing?" She went onto the computer and logged into the next race.
"Me and Craig. And the two new ones will be Evan and Tyler." I told her.
"Alright! You are sent your guys' heat will be...seventy-five."
"Sweet! Thank you Molly!" I hugged her and left to the main area, where Craig, Evan and Tyler were looking for me.
"There you are!" Craig said.
"They said you were up here. I thought they lied for a second." Tyler laughed. "Anyway, they said you set it all up? When we racing?"
"Seventy-five," I told them, and they looked up at one of the TVs above the track, showing what heat was next.
"Oh come on. That's a long time away!" Evan whined. "It's only on seventy-three!"
"No, we're next. Trust me. Besides, I don't want you two to race against people who one here every so often. They do not play nice."
"Yeah, especially the drunk ones, my god." Craig added.
"And in reality, we'd actually be heat eight-nine, if it wasn't for me. So shut up Evan." I smiled.
"Well I gonna get a drink." Craig said, pointing to the bar.
"You're not old enough." Evan and Tyler said.
"Guys! Like Jon's been telling you," he said, "he owns the building! He can do almost anything he wants. And, as his friends, we get some of those perks as well. We get free races, but have to pay everything else,. Of course with discount." Craig explained, then excused himself to the bar.
"Does that mean I can drinks?" Evan asked.
"No." Tyler snapped. I responded to hi with a growl. Tyler looked at me and sighed. "Fine. But no getting drunk. You already have enough brain damage." Evan cheered and ran off. "Thanks for doing all this. You know I would've paid though."
"I know. But we're gonna be here all day, and it'll add up real quick. Besides, I haven't been here in a long time."
"Heat seventy-five to the gate! Heat seventy-five to the gate!" I told Tyler to get the others at meet at the gate.
"Hey Jon! I think you forgot about this," Wade said, then handing me my helmet.
"Sweet! Thanks Wade." The others then joined us. The brothers watched in video of how this works, while Craig and I got helmets on and sat in our assigned kart. "This, is gonna be great."
