With their hands intertwined, Naruto and Hinata stood outside of the hospital, while she held it together for him. He was an emotional wreck, which was more than acceptable.
A part of her was glad that he was being this vulnerable with her, rather than keeping it all inside. He trusted her, and she really felt like he did, and though it overwhelmed her initially, she tried her best to be there for him.   Strangely, she felt honored to see the vulnerable side of him.

Though she knew the pain of losing a parent, she could only assume it was twice as worse as the pain from losing her mother, after all he had lost his father and mother. The people who raised and nourished him into the man he is today. Losing one parent was hard enough, but two? I would be numb.
He was sobbing, while she hugged him tightly and whispered reassuring words to him.
She wanted to cry, her heart was breaking for him, along with his parents. Minato and Kushina were truly the kindest people in the world.

The last few months, Kushina had turned into a mother figure for Hinata, and it felt as if she had lost her mother for the second time.
A sigh left her lips as she felt tears start to pool in her eyes. They had been outside for twenty minutes, and by then everyone had known about the deaths of Kushina, Minato, and Fugaku. Considering they were murdered, it was broadcasted all over the news.
Jiraya, Kakashi, along with their family friends were currently at the hospital.

Pulling away from Hinata, he said, "I'm fine now, Hime. I-I just need to talk to Mikoto. I have to know what happened." She nodded, before kissing his cheek. "Wait. Before we go in there, just know that your parents loved you deeply, and they always will." He nodded, interlocking their fingers as they headed to the ICU.

Walking into her room, they were met with Sasuke and Itachi, who held onto their mother's hands. Mikoto was sickeningly pale and still managed to smile at Hinata slightly.
She had to place her hand over her mouth, to literally chock back the sob that wanted to unleash, as the atmosphere became too intense.
They all had bloodshot, red eyes. "I'll come back to you, Hime." He said, before kissing her forehead softly. When she left the room, she blew out a sigh, and let her tears fall.

Walking to the vending machine, to get herself water, she saw Sakura hunched over while sitting on the floor. As soon as she saw Hinata, they hugged each other tightly.
"How are you holding up?" She asked, and she couldn't choke back her sobs anymore.
"I-I'm trying to stay fine, Sakura." Hinata felt her own tears fall onto her already drenched shirt, as she listened to her friend vent.
"Why would anyone kill those three beautiful people? And Mikoto, she looks so lifeless.
I'm trying to stay strong, Sakura, but I'm not strong at all. I'm weak, and Naruto needs me right now."

"You're not weak, you're the strongest person I know, Hinata. Naruto needs you right now, so if you can't be strong for yourself, be strong for him." She nodded, listening to the words her friend said to her, "How are you doing?"
Hinata asked, as she wiped her tears from her face. "I feel like shit." She told her truthfully, with a spiteful laugh leaving her lips.
"Sasuke is already starting to shut me out, and I don't know what to do. On top of that, I'm constantly throwing up." Hinata nodded, "Trust me, I know what he's going through, but give him time, just don't leave him alone tonight, okay?"
"Okay."

"Maybe Itachi can talk to him. I understand what he's going through and trust me, it's a lot harder than it looks." She nodded, "I just feel so bad. I love him, and there's nothing I can do for him." Pulling her into a hug Hinata said, "Just let him know that you care. I promise you he'll come around." She shrugged, before saying, "God I'm getting queasy again."
"As for your throwing up? You should probably ask Tsunade. Maybe you have a cold or something."
She nodded and shrugged, "I just feel weird."

"Do you know what happened at the restaurant?" She asked, she shook her head.
"I was hoping you did, because the only thing I heard was the news report, which wasn't very helpful."
Right as they said that, Naruto and Itachi walked out of Mikoto's room. Sakura and Naruto hugged as she gave her condolences. Putting her hand on Itachi's shoulder, Hinata looked in his eyes to see that he wasn't crying, but he looked pained.

"I'm sorry for you loss." He smiled sadly, before slightly rubbing her hand. "How are you holding up?" She asked, he sighed. "I'm alright, Sasuke isn't though. Sakura?" She looked at him, "Sasuke needs your help right now."
"I'm trying." Sakura said to Itachi as they hugged each other, Hinata hugged Naruto.
His warm embrace engulfed her, as he held her tight. "Let's go talk?" He asked and she nodded. As they walked outside, she felt the cold December wind against her flesh.
"Hime. It's like everything is dark, and you're my only light. I hate being like this."
"Naruto. I understand, and I'll always be here." He nodded, before kissing her hand. "Don't ever leave my side. You're my only sanity right now."

"I never will."
"My dad jumped in front of my mother, when the man shot at her. He got shot two times, just for the second bullet to go right through him, and into her spine." He said while holding her tighter. He chuckled slightly while wiping his tears, "He told me once years ago, that when a man meets the right person, they'd take a bullet for that person. And that's exactly what he did."
"Your father died a hero." She said softly into his ear, and he nodded while holding her tighter. "He was always my hero."

"There's so many things they never got to tell me." He said with his tears falling against her shoulder. "They'll never get a chance to see the birth of their grandchildren. Or even teach me how to change a diaper. They won't even see me accept my diploma. I-I really can't believe that they're gone."
"They're not gone, Naruto. They'll always be apart of you."
"It's a hard reality to face." Pulling away slightly, she kissed his forehead, and rested her's against his, while she listened to him talk.
"Hey, Hinata, can I talk to him for a moment." Looking up, Hinata saw Jiraiya, holding two popsicles. Smiling sadly up at him, she kissed Naruto's cheek, before walking back inside.

Walking through the doors, she saw her father and Neji, and could've let out a breath of relief.
"Hinata." Neji said, making her rush toward him, and hug him tightly. "Oniichan."
"How are you?" He asked while looking her in the eyes. "Not good, Neji. I thought it was hard losing your mother, but I can't imagine what he's going through."
"Naruto is strong, Hinata. It's okay for you to cry, you were close to them." Soon her father joined them.

"How's, Naruto?" He asked and she wiped her eyes while hugging him and saying, "He's not doing too good, Dad." Nodding he kissed her forehead, "How are you doing?" She sniffled and chuckled lightly, "About the same, Dad.
I just can't believe it."
"It honestly feels like I lost mom for the second time." Pulling her closer, her father said quietly. "If you really love that boy like you say you do, the both of you will get through this, together. I can honestly say I love Naruto like I son, so if he wants to talk to anyone I'll always be here." She nodded into his broad chest. "Thank you Dad. I love you."
"I love you too, Hinata."

"The family of Mikoto?" A nurse called out, instantly they all rushed over. Itachi walked down the hall with the nurse to discuss something. Turning back, he walked steadily toward the group of concerned people.
Sighing, he ran his fingers through his hair.
"She's in cardiac arrest. Her brain is starting to swell even more and the chance of her making it is very slim." As he said that, Hinata saw Sasuke walking down the hallway presumably from his mother's, with his head low and his fist balled by his sides.
Without saying a word, he walked past the group of people, and out the doors of the hospital, with Sakura walking after him.
