Chapter Twenty

       Taking a deep breath, Hinata was in the zone as the people in the crowd cheered for her. Her palm smacked the ball, while she repeated to herself how she had to win the game. "Let's go, Hinata!" She heard her boyfriend yell from the student section, before starting a chant, as she took a deep breath before throwing the ball up, and jumping to hit it over the net.
It was the last set before the end of the volleyball hand, and Konoha was only leading by two points, so her entire team was on edge, though they didn't directly show it. Though Hinata's serve was powerful, a girl on the opposing still sent it back over.

With the ball in the air, TenTen called out,
"Sakura!" Before setting the ball up for her, bumping it. "Mine!" Sakura yelled, as she jumped to hit the ball with her hand. Once it landed as a point, the girls all clapped, while the crowd went wild.
After Konoha got three more points, from their additional two sets, the ball was given to a girl from Sanu to serve. Hinat recognized her almost immediately as Ano, one of the many girls who slept with Toneri, even though they knowingly dated.

  When she hit the ball, and it came spiraling toward Hinata, she bumped it up towards TenTen, so she could set her up for a hit.
"Mine!" She yelled, before jumping skillfully into the air, and hitting it forcefully at a girl who didn't seem ready for it. Though Konoha was ready to celebrate, their opponents surprised them as they jumped up to block the hit, making Ino yell, "Mine!" As she slid across the floor, and bumped the ball back up, before TenTen set Sakura up for another hit, that didn't fail to hit the other side of the court with force.

The entire student section celebrated, while the girls did the same as they walked back to the locker room. "Team meeting in the locker room." Sakura said to her team, before walking toward her friends as they got their water bottles from the bench. "Can we just acknowledge how good we played?" She asked with a smile, making Hinata laugh. 

The girl threw her arms around Hinata while saying, "This team is so much better with you on it, Hinata." Ino said before practically chugging her water. Before she could part her lips to downplay her performance, Ino continued, "Don't even try to down play yourself. You had ten of the 24 points."
"My God, and Temari! Your blocks today were amazing!" She complimented her, making Temari blush a little while smiling.

  "Hime!" Hinata heard, before she felt Naruto's arms wrap around her waist. She smiled up at him, as he hugged her sweaty body tightly, while expressing how proud he was. "Naruto." She said while laughing a little, as his lips coated her face in kisses.
  Subconsciously, Hinata's eyes drifted to Sakura and Ino as they were occupied with guys from Sanu, who tried to hit on them.

Her eyebrows rose in surprise at how bold the boys seemed. "Thank you for coming, and cheering me on the whole time, but I'm super sweaty and icky. Secondly, I have to go to the locker room for a meeting, Baby. I love you." She said before pecking his lips quickly, and he smiled before kissing her lips again, "I love you too." With a smile on her lips, she turned around to walk away, only to feel a sting to her backside, making her glance over her shoulder, and giggle as he winked at her.

After the team meeting, and her shower, Hinata walked out of the locker room before her friends, and wanted to grimace as she saw Toneri leaning against the wall, next to the water fountain.
"Hey, Hinata." She smiled as politely as she could, "Hello."
"You played great." He said while looking her up and down, "Thanks. I should really be getting back. It was nice seeing you again." She said to him as she started to walk away, only for him to grab her by the wrist.

Just as he did so, Sakura and Ino walked out of the locker room, while laughing about something.
"Hinata?" Ino asked, making Toneri look at her. "She'll catch up with you two in a minute." He said and Sakura looked at her friend questioningly, waiting for her to show any sign of discomfort so that they'd stay.
Though she didn't want them to leave, she nodded and they continued walking as she stayed with Toneri. "We haven't gotten a chance to talk and I just wanted to apologize for everything." He said, and she resisted the urge to roll her eyes.
