Chapter Twelve

The next morning, Neji and Hanabi sat in the car at their schools parking lot. She waved at Naruto as he walked past the car, and she smiled brightly. "He asked me to homecoming last night." She said to her cousin with a blush on her face, "I knew he would. I want to ask TenTen, but it never seems like a good time."
"As much as you guys hangout, you never have time? You just don't have the balls."
She said laughing. He rolled his eyes and said, "Shut up."

"We have three weeks Ino chill." Sakura said as they ran the mile in their gym class.
They were on their last lap, while the boys were already done and playing football on the field.
"Exactly only three weeks, we're going shopping after school, so ask your dates what color we should be looking for." She ordered as they finished the last lap, Hinata laughed.
"After school? Don't we have try-outs."
TenTen said, making Ino nod, "I completely forgot! Okay this weekend, Saturday we're going to the mall."
They all nodded, before going to the bleachers.
The schools football's season had just ended, with another undefeated record. Naruto mentioned to Hinata that they've been undefeated since 1985, which was the year their parents graduated from here.
"Hina?" Asked Ino, snapping her out of her daze as she watched Naruto with a smile on her face. "Y-yes?"
Sakura laughed, "Thinking of Naruto?"

She felt her cheeks heat up. "No." She mumbled, making them laugh.
"Like I was saying. I hope she doesn't make the team this year, she's so obsessed with Sasuke." Sakura complained about someone.
"Isn't like every girl though?" Hinata asked, while watching Naruto intently as he caught the football, "Yes, but she's on another level. Like almost stalker level." She frowned, "Really? Who is she?"
"Karin Uzumaki."
"Uzumaki? She's related to Naruto?"
"Yeah. She's his cousin, I'll bet if they weren't cousins she'd be his stalker too." Ino said, and she laughed. "How long have you guys known her?"

"Since our freshman year. Believe it or not Sasuke and I were once a lot closer than we are now. He was like my brother, before I started having a crush on him. Then all of a sudden she transfers, screams Sasuke-kun and pushes me right out the way." Sakura said frowning slightly. "Does Sasuke like her?"
"Not at all, I don't know if she's incompetent of rejection or what, but it's sad how he just ignores her and she really thinks there's something there." She shrugged, "I wonder who he's taking to homecoming."
"Me too. If he would've asked me..." Sakura said while looking at him, "Don't do this to yourself Sakura. He's stupid for not asking, and we're gonna make sure he regrets it. You're gonna go to that dance and have fun with Sasori, even if I have to force you."

It really bugged Sakura how he never asked her, because they all knew he wanted to, but he just wouldn't. Maybe it was a pride thing?
"I still think you should ask him, who says you can't?" Hinata suggested. She shook her head, "He's got to step up if he wants to get with me. Ino's right, I'm gonna go to that dance and have fun with Sasori, he's a nice guy anyway."
"Plus he's in college, that'll piss Sasuke off even more." Ino said, while Sakura nodded. TenTen shook her head, "This is a bad idea. I can feel the disaster coming."
As they finished talking, Coach Gai blew his whistle, signaling for them to go to the locker rooms.

As the girls walked into the gym, and talked about anything, Hinata felt Naruto wrap his arms around her waist, making her laugh and turn in his embrace. "Baby." She said, pecking his lips. "Yes, Hime?"
"Move your hands." She said while laughing, as they palmed my butt. "I can't help it, it took everything in me to not stare as you ran in these shorts." Laughing she shook her head, "You're such a perv, Naruto." Kissing her softly, he said, "Only for you, Hime."

"If they look at you guys any kind of way, let us know." Neji said as TenTen, Sakura, Ino, and walked into the gymnasium.
He was referring to the volleyball managers, which were some freshmen boys.
Hinata laughed and kissed her boyfriends cheek, "We'll be fine, now bye guys." She said to Neji, Sasuke, and Naruto. They all said Bye and left the gym.
"Heads!" Someone yelled, and Sakura looked up just in time to catch a ball that was coming for her head. Temari ran over quickly behind it, "I'm so sorry."

Sakura smiled at her, "It's fine, but hey I didn't know you played." She nodded smiling a little, "Likewise, you guys any good?"
"I don't mean to brag, but actually Ino and I have one MVP three years in a row."
Temari nodded impressed, "Well a little rivalry is always good?" Sakura smiled, "Sure is."
Hinata knew that Sakura was the most competitive person she knew, even more than Naruto, and she just hoped Temari could keep up. Saying Sakura was "Good", would be an understatement.

In a couple of houses the first day of tryouts were over, and she was exhausted. Her arms were red and itchy from hitting the volleyball back and fourth, while her palms were in the same shape from hitting. To add onto her sore forearms, Coach Anko made them condition the last twenty minutes, and her thighs were on fire. She honestly needed a massage.
Though she was tired, she had a lot of fun.
It was a fun way to relieve stress, and she couldn't wait for tomorrow. She sat in the passenger seat of Ino's car, while TenTen and Sakura sat in the backseat.
"You have a natural for blocking hits Hina." TenTen said, "Thank you, but your serving arm? It was a perfect serve everytime."
She laughed a little, "Can I be honest? I didn't know how to properly serve till last season."

Sakura laughed, "I remember having to show you everyday at practice and you still just would not do it."
"Underhand serving is so much easier!"
She said and they all laughed a little.
"This is my stop, goodnight ladies." She said as Ino pulled into her driveway.
"Bye Hina!" They said as she stepped out the car and walked toward her front door.
Opening her unlocked front door, she called out,"I'm home!" She heard laughing while she hung up her jacket in the closet, "the kitchen!" Her dad said, and she walked into the kitchen she saw her father and some random lady.

"Hey dad." She said looking at the woman, wondering what she was doing here.
"Hey Hina. This is my coworker Ms. Madoki. Kasumi this is my eldest daughter Hinata."
"It's nice to meet you Hinata." She said smiling and sticking her hand out, she smiled slightly and shook it. "It's nice to meet you too. You two are probably discussing business and all, so I'll leave you guys alone. Night dad."
She said excusing herself.
"Night, Hinata."

  "Oneechan?" Hanabi said to her sleeping sister while budging her shoulder. Hearing her call her name, she jolted up and looked at her sister. "Hanabi? What's wrong?" She asked, noticing that it was the middle of the night. Wiping her eyes she answered, "I had a nightmare and I can't go back to sleep.
Can I sleep in here?" Hinata sighed scooting over. She laid in her bed, and faced her as she closed my eyes.
"I've been having bad dreams ever since that night. I don't know why, nothing even happened." She admitted softly, making Hinata open her eyes, knowing that she wouldn't be getting any sleep tonight.
"What happened in your dream?" She asked her softly.

She sighed, "He picked me up from school, because you and Neji were busy with school. We got ice cream and were having fun, but then we got home and he changed. Started throwing things, and I tried to calm him down. Dad started doing things, while I begged for him to stop...I woke up crying... I just don't know Oneechan...I've been scared of him since then. I can't even look at him."
She placed her hand on top of sisters smaller one, "Hanabi. I get it, you have every right to be scared, honestly I am too. What he did to you or what he almost did is unacceptable.
You can feel scared, don't be ashamed of that. Just know that I will never let anything like that happen again. Dad is trying to get better, and it will never happen again. I promise."

Her sister nodded, while wiping her nose. "Okay. I feel like I'm overreacting."
She said, and she shook her head.
"You're not. He hurt you, don't feel like you're overreacting when it should've never happened in the first place."
She yawned, "I'm sorry for waking you up."
She shook her head, "it's fine. Do you feel better? We can always get milk and cookies."
Hinata said smiling at her, and she laughed a little, "I'm fine."
"Okay, goodnight." She said to her, "Night, oneechan." She responded, before closing her eyes and dozing off. Hinata smiled, and caressed her soft fingers, before going to sleep.
