Chaper Thirteen

Next week
"Ladies, today is the last day of tryouts, and we wanted to express how proud we are of all of you. Even the ones who didn't make the team they wanted, or who didn't make it at all, every one of you ladies worked hard. Give yourselves a hand." Coach Anko said, and the girls all clapped even though they were burning with anticipation.
"The list is posted on the locker room door, everyone who made A squad please come back to here, so we can have a short meeting. While B squad ladies, stay in the locker room, so you guys can meet." Kurenai said, everyone nodded and they got up to walk away.

Everyone rushed to the board where names were posted.
"Yay we all made Varsity!" Ino said as they walked into the locker room smiling.
Some girls were crying, and Hinata felt bad as she watched their friends comfort each other.
"Who else made it?" Hinata asked as she changed from the shirt , she just got done wearing. "I don't know everyone, but I know Temari did also. But are you guys hitting the showers?" Asked Sakura as she put her hair in a ponytail. "I'm not, I don't want to miss the meeting." Ino said, "Well I'm both of your rides home, so I suggest you do something productive until I'm done." She said, Ino rolled her eyes. "I guess we are then." Hinata groaned, and Sakura laughed.

"Never thought I'd see the day Hinata is complaining about taking a shower." She said as they changed into their towels and shower shoes. She laughed, "I knew I should've convinced Ino to drive." Hinata said as they stepped into their separate stalls.

"Turn the music down before we get pulled over!" Ino shouted as Sakura drove with the music blasting, it was 9:00 pm and she thought it was a good idea to drive with the music bursting their eardrums. Hinata turned it down from the passenger seat. "Even if we did get pulled over, we wouldn't be in much trouble." Sakura said, "What do you mean?" Hinata asked. Just as she asked that, she ran a stop sign and at first they didn't even see the police car, but they heard the siren.
A groan left all of their lips as the lights flashed on them, she groaned sinking into the seat, as she pulled over to the side of the road.

"Sasuke's dad is the chief of Konoha police." Ino explained, buckling her seatbelt, that she didn't have on. "I swear to God, Sakura."
She sighed and she rolled her window down. The young deputy said, "I assume you know why I'm pulling you ladies over tonight?"
His brown eyes stared down at Sakura, and he bit his lip. Hinata glanced at Ino to see if she saw what was going on.
"Yes officer, I ran that red light back there, I'm so sorry, Sir." She said, biting her lip and flipping her hair to her other shoulder.

She's really about to flirt her way out of this ticket. She wanted to laugh at the cops expression, because he didn't know what to do. "It's okay beautiful, listen I'll let you off with a warning. Just don't do it again, it's unsafe.
Do you understand?" She nodded with a small smile, "Thank you so much officer, I'll never run another red light, I promise."
Hinata looked back at Ino, and she was just as surprised as she was. Giggling a little, Hinata shook her head.
"Okay Ms, have a nice night, and drive safe." He said with a wink.
"You too sir, drive safe." She said with a smile, and he walked back to his car.

When she started driving again, Ino said, "Sakura Haruno. You did not just flirt your way out of a ticket." She smiled slightly, "I did. I've seen my mom do it plenty of times, it's not hard. Besides I don't want a ticket, I'd be grounded."
"You said Sasuke's dad is the chief though, wouldn't you get away with everything?"
Sakura shook her head, "Oh God no. Sure he won't let anything too serious happen, but all of our parents contact each other in a less than a minute if any of us are to get into any trouble. If we were to get a ticket, my dad would know as soon as I walked through my front door."
She laughed a little, "You're kidding."

"Psh, get in trouble once Hina and you'll see." Sakura said, "You know hell would freeze over if she ever got in trouble." Ino said, and she rolled her eyes. "I'm not that much of a good girl." Ino rolled her eyes and said, "Lie again."
"Well, maybe not. She gave Naruto a hickey for one." Sakura said, and she blushed with embarrassment. "You're right. Okay maybe you're not, but still don't try it." Ino said laughing a little.
"I can't believe you two." She said as she pulled into her driveway, "Well you better believe it. Bye girl, make sure to tell Naruto you made the team. He'll want to celebrate."
Ino said while winking, Hinata laughed "Night guys. Drive safe, and keep the music down."

"I'm home!" She called out, "Kitchen!" Neji yelled, walking in she saw him on his laptop.
"What are you doing?" She asked, "History homework. How'd try outs go?"
She smiled a little, "Made Varsity." He smiled at her, "I knew you would. Good job, Hina."
"Thanks niisan, so did TenTen. You should congratulate her." He nodded, "I'll make sure of it, but have you ate?" She nodded, "Yeah, we picked something up on the way here, have you?" He nodded, "Yeah, Hiashi's going to be late tonight, he's stuck doing some business."
She nodded while grabbing a water bottle from the frig. "Did you meet Ms. Madoki? One of his coworkers yesterday, he never brings coworkers home." She said, "He brought her here?" Neji asked raising his eyebrows.
"Exactly."
He shrugged, "Maybe he's just dating again."
She frowned at the thought.
"Anyway. Night niisan, don't stay up too late."
"Night Hina, love you." He said while typing. "Love you too."

  The next morning, Hinata was walking into school with an anxious Naruto.
"So? Did you make it? Well of course you did. Did you make Varsity?" Naruto asked with anticipation as he walked with Hinata to her locker. "I...made..." She started, looking up at him trying to mask her joy. "Varsity." She said after the two second pause.
He sighed, and smiled giving her a hug.
Her body swayed as he hugged her tightly while saying, "I knew you would! Good job, Hime." She laughed while blushing,
"Thank you, Naruto."
"I'm definitely going to every game." He said as she opened her locker, "Oh you don't have to." She said while pulling her class copy of, The Great Gatsby, from it.
"I want to be a supportive boyfriend, besides you in tight shorts? Who'd want to miss that."

She laughed while hitting his arm. "You're a pervert, Naruto." He shrugged and put his arm around her, as he walked her to her home room, which was right next to his and Sakura's.
"See you later, Hime." He said kissing her cheek and walking into his class, while she did the same, with a smile plastered across her face. When she sat down in her usual seat, she heard someone's say, "Hinata?" Turning in her seat, Sasuke looked at her. "Yes?"
"Congrats on making Varsity." He said, even smiling a little. She was shocked that he was actually saying something to her, and a compliment at that.

"T-thanks Sasuke. How'd you know?"
"Sakura mentioned it." He said, and she nodded. "Can I ask you something?" She asked, he nodded. "Who are you taking to homecoming?" He scratched the back of his head, and even blushed a little. "Honestly? No idea." She nodded, "Well, if you want I know a few girls who'd love to go with you." She said, mostly talking about Sakura. Sure she had a date, but it was her crush. If Sasuke asked her right now she'd leave her date in an instant, and they both knew that.
"I'm fine, but thanks." He said, and she nodded before facing the board as the bell rang, and Asuma rose from his desk with his usual stoned face.
"Good morning class."

  "He's still looking for a date, if you want to ask him." Hinata said to Sakura as they sat in their English class. We were the first one's there, so we had time. She was saying how Sasori's aunt is close to dying, so he can't make the dance.
He said he'd make it up to her, but she was obviously still bummed. She sighed, "I don't even want to go anymore Hina."
"No don't say that, you have thousands of other guys that want to go with you. What about Kankuro?" She shook her head, "He's going with some girl named Ano now."

"Kiba?" She shook her head frantically,
"He was just being nice, besides he has a date too."
"You could always ask you know who." She said just as Naruto and Sasuke walked into the classroom. "That's not gonna happen, so I guess I'm not going Hina." She said, "Nope, if you don't go, I'm not either."
Naruto and Sasuke sat in front of them. "Woah, you're not talking about homecoming are you?" Hinata nodded, "Sasori has a family emergency, so Sakura says she's not going." Naruto looked at her, "You've got a bunch of guys wanting to go with you."
She sighed, "But I want to go with someone I at least like a little. I'm not going."
"If you don't go I won't either, Sakura."

Naruto groaned, "You're going, Hime. Teme can take Sakura." He said, Sakura blushed,
"O-oh no I'm sure he doesn't."
Sasuke looked at her, "Well I mean... I don't have a date... you want to?" Her emerald eyes lit up, and her cheeks were flustered,
"Sure, Sasuke." Hinata smiled to herself, Naruto probably didn't even realize what he did, but it made Sakura happy.
"Perfect." She said as Sakura still blushed and Sasuke had his usual persona.
"So what color do you think we should match with?" Hinata asked Naruto, "Well I know purple is your favorite color, so purple."
She nodded smiling a little, "Okay. How about purple and white? You look good in white."
He laughed, "I look good in everything," She kissed his cheek, "I know."
