hiding pain

Part 12 -hiding pain-
Later that evening you wake up slowly, trying to adjust your eyes to the darkness. You try to sit up gently. You notice over in the distance that the fire had been lit for diner and everyone was there. You've forgotten all about your cut so you put your shoes on and stand up. Walking about 5 feet, you hault suddenly. You lift your top and see the bandage around you, "god sake" you say as you carefully unwrap it. Dropping the bandage to the ground you clean your hand in water and see how much your stomach still hurts. "Fuck!" You shout because of how much pain this was causing you. But knowing you had to keep going into the maze a secret you pulled your top down over yourself and kept walking with agony on your face. As you reach the fire you see Thomas sitting with Newt, they're both having a laugh until Thomas looks up and sees you. He has sorrow in his eyes and then he gets up and comes to you. "You're up? How you feeling?" He asks putting his hand on your shoulder. You lift your top again to show him, it had gotten worse. "Just try not to touch it" he unsurely tells you. He walks back to newt and tells him that you're up, you stay where you are but keep holding your stomach to stop it hurting so much. Newt rushes over to you, "you okay?" He asks as you look hurt. "Yep I'm great" you fake smile. He smiles back and invites you to join them. "Let's go, come sit with us" he's facing Thomas at the time, and then he turns back to grab your hand but he wacks you in the stomach where your cut is. You clench your fists and hold your breath for a second and just yell, "oh my god it hurts it hurts!!" You fall to the floor onto your knees and you grasp onto newts arm. Thomas sees and runs, and skids down to you. You look up at him and try to whisper , "thomas it really hurts" you grab onto the top of his shirt and pull him closer. He puts his arms around you and lifts you up over his shoulder, he walks carrying you back to the beds. "It was just a scrape, why is it hurting so much?" Thomas being more confused than ever he lays you down flat and lifts your top up for a third time. You could tell by his facial expression that it was bad. "What is it?" You ask as he starts hurrying off. "You want the truth?" He asks which makes you worry and nod. "A scrape or even a cut shouldn't go that bad, I think there's something about that maze they aren't telling us" he looks suspiciously.
