The Loveless Daughter Of Aphrodite

The loveless daughter of Aphrodite Goes to sleep with no one by her side Goes by everyday not being hugged Goes waking, cursing the day ahead Goes by everyday begging for love Praying for love to the gods above Yet believes that it will get better That she'll have happy-ever-after
The loveless daughter of Aphrodite Was as beautiful as her mother Even so, no one ever bothered Except for a few creeps and perverts, Condescending from Athena's girls And pretty much the whole mortal world All the beauty that there is was hers Still no one bothered to hear her cries
The loveless daughter of Aphrodite Had only wanted love from others Especially from her dear Mother And had often tried all to get it But she only received little bits And all her love turned into anger Soon, she became lonely and bitter Most angry at her mom, Aphrodite
The loveless daughter of Aphrodite Had often wished to the stars above That she had another for mother Any woman except Aphrodite And believed that'd be so much better Than the frivolous goddess of love She wished she had been Athena's, too Maybe that'll give her some value, too
The loveless daughter of Aphrodite Gave so much love to those who did not Breathe, receive, nor return what she gives There was once her eyes sparkled so bright But this time, her heart started to rot To love, she became so defensive She started to build her castle up, Cut down bridges and left many gaps
The loveless daughter of Aphrodite Was scorched, scorned, and scared of love itself She became wary, locked in herself Up in the castle's turret she built Watching relationships she had die Stopping tears from falling down her eyes Kept silent under the weight of guilt Went on life with her remaining strength
The loveless daughter of Aphrodite Goes to sleep with no one by her side Goes by everyday not being hugged Goes dreading, cursing the day ahead No longer begged anyone for love No longer prayed to the gods above Believes no more that it'll get better Trusts happy ever afters no more
