Cinnamon Shots

INTRO

Hello ~

Before you start on my poem collection, I'd like to tell you two things. First is about poetry and second is about this poetry collection.

I. ABOUT POETRY

First of all, there are two major types of poetry according to how they're made. I'll also explain them at the same time.

1. Freestyle
Freestyle is the poetry we usually see around. It's so easy to write since you have no need to follow the rules unlike the measured + rhymed poems. However, if you wish to, you can observe some of the rules.

Here's an example:

A pretty cat
It was what I saw
Standing in the moon's shadow
She was fluffy and cute

2. Old fashioned
This is the mode of writing the old people would write. Example would be Shakespeare's works.

        a. Measure is the number of syllables within the line. Before I start my poems, I would often mention the measure. It goes like this: 10 syllables per line. Self explanatory but okay, this means there are exactly TEN syllables per line. If I say it's haiku, it means first line is 5 syllables, the next is 7, then 5 again, so on, so on.

         b. Rhyme is well, rhyme. It's what you hear on the rap that makes rap music sounds so good. I'd mention the rhyme of the poem through saying: rhyme scheme is ABAB etc. ABAB means first and third line would rhyme then the second and fourth would rhyme. There's also various rhyme schemes.

Here's the example:

I saw the prettiest cat
Fluffy, fluffy, little cat
She had squishy chubby cheeks
And spends her time in a creek

Breaking down

I/saw/the/prett/iest/cat = 7 syllables; this is letter A.
Fluf/fy/fluf/fy/litt/le/cat = 7 syllables; this matches letter A.
She/had/squis/hy/chub/by/cheeks = 7 syllables; this is letter B.
And/spends/her/time/in/a/creek = 7 syllables; this matches letter B.

Sometimes, you can have three matches or more; it depends on you. The old fashioned will have more details and that's for you to Google now (XD)

II. ABOUT THIS COLLECTION

Since the title Cinnamon Shots and the blurb was one shot for every feelings, I decided to categorize my poems into types of drinks :3 This poetry collection is still under re-organization though. Please be patient with me :)

On June 12, 2019, I decided to delete the divider pages and instead, tag each poem with an emoji. I also decided to put the newest poems first because no one really cares about the latest poems and that's fine. It's a fact of life. We adapt to it and so I put the latest poems first ^^ And because I like to show off (jk I'm just proud of my work ^^) I'd like to start this collection with my bestest: Sammie, Loveless Daughter of Aphrodite, The Doubtful Writer/Artist) and Yellow Paint.

Drinks being served at the moment

🍹 energy drink 🍹 = is associated with inspiration and motivation; happy thoughts after the storm; often heartwarming
☕ coffee ☕ = is associated with bitter feelings that has shook me into reality. Some of the coffee are bitter and may be sprinkled with anger but had ultimately made me see clearer and probably, you will, too.
🥃 rum 🥃 = is for sad feelings which make you feel like there's no end to sadness
🍵tea🍵 = calm is the feelings surrounding these poems; mostly philosophical in nature but by being philosophical, it an also be bitter.

More drinks will be added in the future menu ~
