How we all, (Peep, Wiggy, Davey and I) ended up in Peep's truck parked in the parking lot of Taco Bell was kind of beyond me, although I had requested it. These things always seemed to happen the more I hung out with Gustav; unexplained randomness. I'm not complaining though.

My birthday is much better now that I'm not being forced to go to some fancy restaurant that my parents thought would make me happy; instead I'm hanging out with people who I would consider close-ish friends and even someone I could consider my crush.

We were all shoving our faces full of assorted items off of the menu. The only sound that could really be heard was the crinkling of wrappers and chewing food. Sitting in the back with Davey was annoying though, because he kept making goofy faces at me while I was trying to eat. Having him here kind of completes everything, though.

"So Evelyn, you're eighteen now. What's the next step?" Wiggy questioned from the passenger seat, finishing up his nachos.

"Welp, I'd like to start busting my ass in school—more so than I have been—because I'm graduating in two months.." I trailed off, the sudden realization of high school ending really hitting me for once.

"Are you gonna miss it?" Gus joined in the conversation.

"I honestly don't even know.. I don't talk to anyone there unless absolutely necessary so I haven't created any bonds or friendships. I might miss some of the teachers.. But other than that I think I'll be happy to get out of that fucking place." I laughed, trying to avoid spilling salsa on my $700 dollar dress.

Yes, I was still in the gown that my mother forced me to wear because, why not? I feel pretty.

"Man, I remember when I graduated high school. The kids threw a huge party, everyone got absolutely trashed in celebration of finally being free from prison.. only to cut that short with worrying about colleges accepting them and going back to prison for a few more years. That's why I never went to college."

"Thank you for your enlightening words, Davey." I joked, shoving his shoulder lightly. He rolled his eyes at me and rolled his taco wrapper up into a ball, bouncing it off my head.

Suddenly, a loud screeching noise made us all turn and look out of the back windshield. A white vehicle tore into the parking lot, burning the rubber of it's tires; causing a cloud of smoke to waft up from the back bumper.

"What the fuck was that?!" Wiggy shouted, sticking his head out of the passenger side window.

"Probably some jackass." Peep commented nonchalantly. His lack of empathy seemed strange at this moment.
