DeMar
"She's upstairs still asleep," Isabella's mother tells me. I nod and thank her for the tortilla she gave me and head upstairs.
I see the door crept opened. I slowly open the door and see a man standing next to her bed reaching out to touch Ella.
"Who the fück are you?" I ask. I nearly yelled but tried to keep my voice down because Ella's parents were down stairs and she was still asleep.
He turned around and put his hands up, "Chill, I'm her brother."
"Ella ain't got no siblings," I step up towards him and clench my fists. I'm not sure who this perpetrator is but he needs to step away from my girl.
It looked like he had gotten his tongue tied up because his face faltered, "Nah - I'm her brother."
His physique was broad and lean. He was about the same height of me but buffer. However, that didn't stop me from pushing him. I could tell I got caught him off guard and so he lost his balance and almost fell back. He was able to knock down Ella's lamp that was next to her bed.
The mysterious man pushed me back in which I returned with a hard hook punch to his cheek. I disliked fighting but if some man shows up randomly next to Isabella, I'll do something about it. It did make my record look bad though and it wasn't a good thing for me.
He cursed and held his jaw but still came closer to me. Isabella was able to interrupt the fight with her yelling.
"Can a girl not get some damn sleep?" She yelled and scratched her head. "Fücking Haro and DeMar."
Haro, I assumed that was his name, looked back at her and then at me. He scratched his neck and then walked past me. His shoulder brushed against mine and I realized he did that stuff on purpose. I eyed him as he exited and shut the door.
"Who the hëll was that?" I grit my teeth. My breaths are still heavy from the small brawl.
"My damn brother, Haro," she groaned. I watch her grab her water bottle from the drawer and then eat the rest of the tortilla that I had dropped on her bed.
"Hey, that was mines," I mumble.
"Too bad," she says while stuffing the tortilla in her face. "You should have thought twice before you decided to punch the crap out of my brother."
I scratch my head still confused of who that fraud was. Ella had told me she didn't have any siblings and her and him are saying they are siblings. "Ella," I say and she turns toward me. "you have never told me anything about him. You said you had no siblings and now you guys are claiming to be siblings. That doesn't make sense."
She sighed and rubbed her eyes, "It's a long story." I shrugged to tell her that I had all the time in the world at the moment to hear her story.
I sat down in the bed with her and listened to everything she said. From all of the blackmailing to their recent Thanksgivings get together. I had felt bad now since I punched him. My knuckles were beginning to hurt and starting to become swollen especially since Haro had a strong jaw.
"I'm sorry, Bear," I mumbled. I was unsure of what to say because I felt guilty. I wanted to immediately apologize to him, so I got up and ran downstairs.
I was met with him and his mother arguing in Spanish. Haro was holding an ice pack to his cheek and leaning against the counter. They grew silent when they saw me. She turned around and immediately I spoke before she could say something.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Figueroa...and to you Haro. I was unaware of you guys being siblings and I thought you were some intruder or something," I stutter.
