Night of NBA Draft

"Fuck, I am nervous as hell!" DeMar screams again for the zillionth time and rubs his hands down his cheeks.

"Stop doing that, you're messing up your tie," I groan and walk towards him. I adjust his black with white polka dots tie. I feel him sigh underneath my touch.

"I need to take another shit," he mumbles. He waits until I'm done and walks past me to go back into the restroom that he just left ten minutes ago.

Everyone was nervous for him. ESPN had him projected as the one of the top ten picks and knowing that made us all anxious. We had to leave in about twenty minutes in order to make it on time to Madison Square Garden. This hotel room was getting hot and sweaty with all the running back and forth

"De!" I called out after he'd been in there for five minutes.

"I'm coming," he replied. There was a knock on the door and I peeked through the peeking hole to see who it was. It was DeMar's parents along with Aja. I opened the door quickly and embraced them.

"You look so beautiful!" His mother said. She adjusted my necklace and then beamed. "DeMar is so lucky to have you. I'm so glad you are his girlfriend because you're the sweetest person ever."

I was used to of her compliments of me dating his son, but this one made me feel more uplifted then before. I smile hard while giving Aja a hug, "Thank you. Y'all look nice."

"Where is he?" His father asked. I pointed to the bathroom and Frank, his father, shakes his head embarrassingly. He looks down at his watch, "Their bus leaves in a couple minutes."

I checked the time on my phone and realized Frank was exaggerating a little, but it was better to be early than late anyway. I heard DeMar quickly turn on the water and wash his hands and then come out of the bathroom. He greeted his parents then turned towards me.

"Where is your dad?"

"He's coming with Haro and Arion."

He nods, "I have to go, I'll see you in a few, okay?" His hands find my cheeks and pecks my lips multiple times before giving me a quick hug.

"Hurry up, don't be late," I say.

"I love you!" He calls as he exits the room.

"I love you!"

Diane, his mother, chuckles at our calling out, "I bet he drove you crazy last night."

I shake my head, "He didn't go to sleep until three in the morning. He just kept on talking and would wake me up when he realized I was falling asleep."

Aja laughs. Her bright yellow dress looked so good on her that it made me almost jealous. It wasn't that horrible jealousy, it was just one of those like, 'Hey, can I borrow that dress? You think it'd look good on me?' jealousy.

As the door closed, it opened and my father alongside with Arion entered. Haro followed behind a few steps later still tying his tie. Arion walked over towards me and Haro did as well. Arion embraced me into a tight hug before letting go so that Haro could hug me. I hadn't seen them in about two months since I was finishing my associates degree at USC. I didn't really like going to college to learn more, but I didn't want my high school diploma to be the only thing I had. However, USC was really fun and I might actually shoot for a bachelors degree but it all depends later on.

I smiled when my dad walked up to me. He rocked me back and forth in his hug, "I miss you."

"I miss you too, pops," I sigh. I really did not want to cry right now but seeing my boys was pushing it. Haro had gotten a bit taller as well as Arion, and both of their hairs were cut short. I had also recently gotten a haircut so my hair wasn't as long as usual.
