"So how are you and Jimmy?" Jordin asks while I continue to straighten my hair. We have been FaceTiming each other for over an hour now just talking about everything in general.
I cheesed when she mentioned him. No we didn't have anything going on, but he sure did make me happy. I said, "Nothing, we're just chilling."
"I'm waiting for him to ask you out already," she exclaimed.
I held a straight-lined face. Truth is he did ask me out but I never replied because Draymond interrupted us at lunch. I wonder how he feels about it because I know someone like Jimmy wouldn't forget something like that.
"Whatcha making that face for?" Her eyebrows knit in confusion and her stare hardens as if she's trying to read my face. "He asked you out didn't he?" I nodded my head slowly. "And what did you say?"
"I didn't say anything because Draymond interrupted us."
"So like you haven't replied at all...like not even a text or some?"
I shook my head, "I was hoping he'd forget about it but I know he won't."
"Hell nah he won't," she started laughing. "You a goof, Ella. You gone practically left the man on delivered, you know?"
I frowned, "I didn't mean to but I honestly don't know what I would've said."
"Well there's this Friendsgiving thing on Monday I think and he may ask you out to that. Say yes because I'm going with Kyle," she says. Well I guess I don't have much of a say to that anyway.
"I guess," I reply.
"Do you even like him? Like actually want to date him?"
"Of course. He's honestly everything a girl could want like he's amazing."
"Then why are you so hesitant?" She smacked.
I sighed, "I had a moment with DeMar last night." She rose her eyebrows and waited for me to continue. "We were cuddling and I got trapped in his daze, and it was like I wanted him to kiss me. Well more like I did want him to kiss me. But damn, it felt so good cuddling him you feel me? I liked being wrapped up in his arms, and when he kissed me on the forehead, girl don't even get me started."
"Well, did you kiss him?" She held a large grin. I shook my head and she frowned. "Damn, I think you stuck in a love triangle."
"No, because I only like Jimmy. DeMar and I just had a moment that will never happen again. I can't date him."
"Why not?" She rested her head on her elbow.
"Because I need someone like him in my life, you feel? I need a reassuring and outgoing person like him. I don't want to be more than friends because I want him to be like my older brother."
"What if in this case you like your older brother?"
I scrunch up my face in disgust, "That's disgusting. I don't like him, Jordin."
She shook her head, "Alright girl, I gotta go because I need to get back to these four essays that are due at 11:59pm, ight?"
"Okay, bye J."
"Bye girl, talk to Jimmy will you?"
"I will." I said and then hung up. I sighed and tied my hair up in a knot.
I'm not even going to lie, I've been feeling Jimmy a lot lately. Like I've said before, we always stay up texting or calling each other. Lately, we've been a lot more comfortable with each other. He pecks my cheek every morning at my locker and hugs me so protectively.
