Chapter Seventeen

Adrianna's pov
I fluttered my eyes quite a few times trying to stay awake which was slowly getting harder to control and maintain but I had to stay up just in case J woke up which has happened at least four times this night.

But I would expect that from someone who had just gotten shot and had a near death experience. I leaned back in the chair besides J's bed watching him sleep deeply his while chest wrapped up but the bullet wound was just gonna add another scar onto his already pale body.

I had changes from my bloody clothes into a dark blue hoodie and some sweats leaving just some socks on my feet and leaving my now short hair to stay against my neck.

As far as I know the only reason why J keeps waking up is cause of pain, he keeps burning through his pain meds cause of the small fever he has so I can't keep giving him morphine shots or else I am really gonna kill him.

I sleepy looked when J's door open and in stepped Chase I smiled weakly waving at him "Adrianna why don't you go head to your room and get sleep me and Frost will take turns watching him." Chase reassured me.

I weakly shook my head "I gotta keep an eye on him Chase I wouldn't really no what to do if he died." I muttered.

Chase let a defeated sigh out "then get some sleep for me I'll stay in here and watch just in case just please get some sleep." he begged to me.

"Deal." I muttered easing his worry and his pleads he pulled the another chair close by me and I laid my head on the arm rest of the chair my gaze still on J before I even knew I blinked once before my eyes shut and I was out for a little while.

The sun was filling the room up making me wince a small bit the drowsiness now actually hitting me. I fluttered my eyes more and I lifted my head up my eyes fluttering more.

What time is? I thought I sat up wincing at the pop from my bones. It felt nice and all I perked up hearing my name being called from a rough voice.

"Adrianna." I heard J call and I got up from the chair slowly sitting on the edge of his bed I slowly grabbed his hand and held it.

"Hey J." I whispered feeling all the stress and relief get off my chest J was awake and didn't seem to know at all what was going on.

"What happened?" He questioned locking his confused gaze with mine "Why does my body hurt." He grumbled I smiled a small bit.

"Last night you went on a raid with Harley Chase and a few others and you got shot in your chest cavity close to your heart." I explained briefly rubbing my thumb across his.

He still was looking very confused it flashing all across his blue eyes he then used his other hands to trace the bandage wrapped around his chest.

"You saved me didn't you kitten that's the last thing I remember." He whispered I slowly nodded.

"It took all night but yeah I saved you J cause I love you." I whispered J gazed at me more and he held his arms out for me.

"Kitten come here." He muttered I blinked "I don't think I should J what if I pop out your stitches?" I asked worry laced all in my voice.

J looked at me annoyed "I want you to come here kitten?" He asked with way more annoyance sighing deeply.

I then slowly climbed into the bed and J was quick to wrapped both his tattoo arms around me and made me lay on his chest.

I slowly held J back cradling him a bit he rubbed my shoulders up and down and placed his head on top of me.

"Thank you Adrianna for everything you have done for me." J whispered.

I shut my eyes more "your welcome J." I whispered back me and J kept quiet for some more moments of silence I felt a kiss on my temple and I kept my eyes shut.

"I love you." J whispered and I felt my heart pick up speed fast that was the first time ever that I heard him say he loves me out loud, I smiled softly "I love you too J."
