Ugh, first day is so boring. All the teachers like to do is arrange assigned seats and talk about random stuff that has nothing to do with what we are here for. Right now I'm sitting at lunch eating a salad.

"Hey, do you mind if I sit with you and Markian?" Newt comes up with a wide smile on his face.

"Sure!" I answer enthusiastically.

"No, man. Can you sit somewhere else?" Markian rudely says.

Newt starts to get up so I grab his arm.
"You can stay. I don't know why Markian is being really rude." I say staring at Markian.

Markian just rolls his eyes and stays quiet. What is his deal?

"So Newt, we haven't really talked. We will be in the same dorm for a while so we should learn more about each other." I said trying to make a conversation.

"I agree. How old are you?" Newt asks.

"I have just turned 19. What about you?" I ask.

"I am 20." He answers.

The rest of lunch went by pretty fast and we learned about each other and Markian kept making rude comments.

"Why were you being so rude to Newt?"  I question.

"I don't like him." Markian says.

"Just because you don't like someone it doesn't give you the right to be rude Markian." I say starting to get agitated. He has no right to treat someone like that!

"I'm gonna go home now. I'll see you later. Love you." Markian says getting off the couch.

"Love you." I answer back getting off the couch as well. I head to the kitchen to see if Newt had the food done yet. We made a deal that we would take turns on cooking. He decided to do it tonight.

"Hey, I'm sorry about Markian being rude to you." I apologize.

"It's fine." He says. "But I do want to tell you something."

"What is it?" I ask. He seems kind of nervous to tell me whatever he needs to tell me.

"Well, I don't think he has left that gang." He says.

"Wait, you knew about the gang?" I question.  He nods his head then starts getting out plates.

"You knew. You knew what they do but never went to the police?"

"I know about them, I didn't know what they did." He answers.

"Oh. Well, Markian left the gang. How could he not? He helped me out." I say remembering what he said and a little of anger starts bubbling in me at the fact that he thinks Markian is lying.

"Food is done, here is your plate." He says, handing me my food.

"Thanks." I quietly say.

I went to my room with my food and watched movies for the rest of the night.
