I wake up to knocking on the door. Who could it be? I walk to the door and look through the peephole. Mason. I forgot. I open the door and let him in.
"Let me get my shoes on." I say.
Mason sits at the desk in front of my bed waiting on me.
I get my shoes on then go to the bathroom to make sure my hair isn't a mess.
"Alright, ready?" I ask.
He nods his head then gets up. I go to open the door but Mason beats me there.
"Ladies first." Mason says with a huge smile on his face. That makes me smile.
"Okay, so, where first?" I ask.
"Hmm, lets just walk." Mason says with a slight chuckle.
"So, do you agree that pineapples does not belong on pizza?" Mason randomly asks. I look at him then burst out laughing because that came out of no where.
"What?" Mason asks, defensively.
"That came out of no where." I say once my laughing dies down.
"So, what do you think?" He asks.
"I actually like pineapple on cheese pizza." I say.
He fake gags then we both start laughing.
"You know, you are a nice guy." I say.
"Well thank you, you are a nice woman." He compliments back.
"So, random question, again. Are you vegan or vegetarian?" He says.
"I am vegetarian, why?" I ask.
"I am doing a one page report on why vegetarians don't want to eat meat." He says.
"Well, I believe it is cruel to kill, butcher, then eat animals. But, you can get more information online. There are different reasons why people are vegetarian." I say trying to help.
"Oh, thanks for the bit of help." He says and laughs lightly.
"You are welcome." I say.
"So, this is the cafeteria, and the gym is right across from it." He says. We continue walking and talking.
"Well, thanks for the tour around campus." I say.
"No problem." He says.
"So is there a reason why all of y'all moved from one college to another?" He questions and it causes me to freeze. I really don't want to talk about it.
"You don't have to tell me." He says.
"Oh, it's not that I don't want to. I just don't really want to talk about it right now." I answer honestly.
"That bad, huh?" He says.
"Yeah." I answer. Suddenly my phone starts ringing and the caller ID says Amelia.
"Yes?" I ask when I answer.
"Come back so you can help unpack." She says.
"Give me a minute." I answer then we hang up.
"I'm sorry, Amelia wants me to go help her unpack." I tell Mason.
"That is alright." He says smiling at me.
"Thanks for the tour and all the laughs." I say before I start walking back to the dorm.
