Luke and I walked into school hand in hand on Monday morning. I was moaning loudly about having to be back, I wasn’t too excited about being in school. Second semester for seniors is always college, college, college. We met up with Heather and Jack, and hugged each other and told stories about our vacations. Luke and I then headed to physics, and sat down in our usual seats.
“It’s good to be back,” Luke laughed, leaning back in his chair.
“You’re crazy Hemmings,” I laughed, pulling my books out of my bag.
“Only for you Banks,” Luke said with a wink.
“You’re also the cheesiest person on Earth,” I laughed.
“Settle down class it’s time to start,” Mr. Davies called from the front of class.
I sighed; mentally preparing my self for the impossible lesson we were about to learn.

I walked into English class early, earlier then the teacher. I liked to look at the class library when no one else was around, that way I could get first pick of the books. I was thumbing through a copy of Pride and Prejudice when I heard footsteps echo through the class. I turned around and locked eyes with Evan, who was slowly making his way over to me.
“Evan please, I thought we were done with all this shit,” I said, setting the book down and backing away.
“Zoey stop, I’m not going to hurt you,” he sighed, coming closer to me.
“Then what exactly are you doing?” I asked.
“I just wanted to say I’m sorry. I feel awful about how I treated you and Luke, but I know that doesn’t make up for what I did. I don’t expect you to forgive me, but I hope you understand how sorry I am,” he said, stopping about two feet away from me.
“Evan, it’s fine. I don’t necessarily forgive you, but I don’t hate you either,” I said, staying in my place.
“Really?” he said.
“Yeah, I can’t hold grudges forever, especially since we’ll be out of here in a few months. There’s no point,” I said, shrugging my shoulders.
“Luke is lucky to have you,” Evan said, before sitting in his chair.

I was lying on my bed with Luke, trying to get some work done.
“So I told my mom about this Friday,” I said, turning to him.
“How did she react?” he asked nervously, running his hand through his hair.
“Um, she was more shocked about me actually having a boyfriend then the fact that I had never mentioned you,” I said, laughing softly.
“Does your dad know yet?” he asked.
“Not really, he knows someone will be over for dinner, but he doesn’t know who…” I said.
“How’s he going to react?” Luke said slowly.
“Honestly, I have no idea. If he’s rude I’m sorry in advance,” I said, leaning in and kissing him on his cheek.
“Is it weird that I’m extremely nervous about this?” Luke asked, rolling onto his back.
“No, its pretty normal,” I said, laughing softly as I leaned in closer to him.
I started kissing him, his jaw, his cheek, and his neck. I climbed on top of him, straddling him and I continued to kiss him.
“Z-Zoey, what are you doing?” he stuttered, his face flushing a deep crimson.
“Just trying to help you relax a little,” I smiled, leaning in and kissing his lips.
“But what if someone walks in or something,” Luke mumbled against my lips.
“Relax Hemmings, if you don’t you’re going to have a heart attack before you turn 20,” I laughed, reattaching my lips to his.
Luke finally gave in, our lips moving in sync. I felt the familiar heat that I always felt when kissing him. It was a feeling that I could never get used to, and I always craved it. He placed his hands on my back, his fingers making contact with the small strip of skin below my shirt. He then flipped me over, so that he was on top of me. Our lips kept in contact as his hand traveled down to my hips, gripping my sides softly. We were then rudely interrupted by a knock on my door.
“Every fucking time,” I mumbled, pushing Luke off of me and sitting up.
“What?” I called out.
“Mom’s coming back in like 15 minutes, just a heads up,” Holden said, cracking the door open slightly.
“Alright, Luke, you ready to go?” I asked, turning to him.
“Y-Yeah,” he stuttered, trying to hide how red his face was.
Luke packed his bag while my brother stood chucking by the door.
“What’s so funny Holden?” I asked, glaring at him.
“Nothing, Luke just has a really cute lipstick stain on his neck,” Holden said, erupting into laughter.
“Shit,” Luke mumbled, placing his hand on his neck.
“Holden, just get out,” I laughed, pushing my brother out of the doorway.
“You two are more entertaining then anything on TV!” he laughed, walking over to his room.
I turned back and Luke was standing in my doorway, his bag slung across his shoulders.
“Come on tomato face,” I said, grabbing his hand and pulling him down the stairs.
“See you Friday Luke,” Holden called from his bedroom.
“Yeah, see you Friday,” Luke called back.
“Remember, to prepare your self mentally and physically,” I said to him as he walked out of my house.
“Don’t worry about me Zoey, parents always love me,” he said with a laugh as he entered his car.
“We’ll see,” I said quietly as he drove away.
