The beginning

The schoolbel rings. It is half past 12. I did it; two exams in one day. I leave the classroom and my friends are talking about summer. "Hey Amber! What are you going to do this summer? ", Robbe asks. Robbe has been my friend since 7th grade. Our school decided to let the students from 11th grade go to an American school, in Texas. I was incredibly excited about it, I signed up immediately and one year ago, I got onto the plane with my classmates. We had classes and exams the whole year and we're going back to Belgium in four days.  

"I don't know... I have to work for five weeks. But I'll get paid for it: $200 a week! ", I say, smiling. They stare at me like I just said something crazy. Then I hear a familiar voice shouting my name: "Hey Amber! Let's get our bags and stuff!" Ah. Yes, I turn around with a smile on my face. Alsace is my best friend. She has been there for me since the day we met, exactly 11 years ago. We never had fights and grew up with each other.

I call her Al, she calls me Bambi. "Al come on, lets eat something first."
She agrees and we spent the rest of the day together. Everyone at school wished me a happy summer. No, you think I am a popular kid, right? I am not. I am that girl everyone knows because she is weird, different and well, completely 'insane'. I don't agree with that, but I hear things...

This is my life before everything changed and before it all ended in drama. It is all the beginning of something different: A better, happier life, with drastic changes and a terrible ending, just saying.
