Different // Why Don't We

Traveling // Part 23

*Alsace POV*

Today we're moving to LA. Amber and I are on the same flight and Hanna will be waiting for us at the airport. The week after our arrival, we'll have a surprise party for the boys. I arrive at Schiphol (Airport Amsterdam) and see Amber immediately. "Girl! I'm super excited!", she exclaims with a smile. I can see she isn't faking this.

"I can't wait! I really can't!", I reply. She pulls me into one of "her" hugs. We guess about Hanna's reaction and the boys' of course while boarding.

Amber has a window seat. She loves the view. The clouds are thick and the sun is shining on her face. When the evening gets closer, the clouds turn orange/pink and she calms down. I turn my focus to my TV and litterarly 5 minutes later, I hear her mumbling. "Amber?", I say as I turn to her, "wha- oh..." I smile at the sight of my best friend sleeping. She is wearing the hoodie she stole from Zach. She pulled it over her head, but I can still see her mouth and eyes. Her facial expression shows me she is having a nice dream. I take pictures of her... She looks adorable. My head says I have to show them to Jonah. Yeah, I notice how they look at each other. But they don't see it themselves. I took the job to get them together, and I don't know how, but I will succeed.

When our plane lands I wake her up: "Bambi, wake up. We arrived." She opens her eyes, realizes something and- bursts out in tears?
As my mind completely blows up I hug her tightly: "Sweety? What's the matter?" She wipes her tears away and gives me a sad smile.
"I realize now how much I've missed them. Christina, the boys, Hanna..."

I nodd and grab my luggage: "I miss them too, Amber. But we have to be careful; we don't FaceTime them anymore. Deal?"
She chuckles: "Deal!"

"There you are!", Hanna screams, "I have been waiting for hours!" She gives us a bone-crushing hug. "Shall I help you with the surprise party?", She wispers in my ear. I nodd excitedly and she turns around to Amber: "Girl, have you been crying?" I see Amber tries to hide her new tears as she looks down: "yeah. I've missed you. That's all."  Hanna and I nodd at each other and hug her tightly. It doesn't take long to make her happy and we get to our own houses.
