"seven-card stud. stares and squares. its aces, cuatros, neeners, and two-eyed jacks," eugene directed with a solid tone.
"so there's fourteen wild cards?" tara questioned with her eyes wide open, "are you serious?" she finished, clearly baffled.
"serious as two copulating dogs," eugene affirmed while dealing.
"ew!" saskia giggled from beside noah. they were forced to share a seat due to the limited space and the large amount of people.
"let's beat his ass," noah whispered in saskia's ear with a smile.
"hell yeah," she returned with a smile of her own.
"uh oh," tara teased, "the two young ones are plotting! what ever shall i do?" she feigned confusion until she broke out into a laughing fit.
saskia playfully threw an empty water bottle at her and tara threw her hands up in surrender. noah offered the brunette a high five for the action.
after another fifteen minutes or so the rv sputtered and ceased rolling down the road. saskia sighed, throwing a look at noah who simply threw his hands up in the air. they all clambered out, noah tripping on the last step before catching himself on the ground. saskia and tara laughed at this and abraham yelled at them to cut it out in jest.
carl walked up to saskia with judith in his arms.
"hey jude!" saskia talked to judith in her excited voice reserved solely for the baby, "and hello, carl."
judith waved and saskia and carl giggled at this. her small hand reached out and grabbed ahold of saskia's fingers and jostled them slightly.
"hey, bud," carl greeted saskia, "how much long do you think it will be?"
"oh, i hope not much longer," saskia sighed with a deep frown.
"the fight's over," michonne spoke softly from next to rick, "you've got to let it go. i know it's hard. after it's kept you warm and fed and alive, but the fight," she paused, "it turns on you. you got to let it go."
saskia dipped her head after that, feeling as though she was intruding on their conversation and went back to conversing with carl.
"are you excited?" carl questioned after a moment, balancing his baby sister on his hip as he leaned back against the car.
"more nervous than anything," saskia responded, digging the toe of her shoe into the mud below and dragging it around in circles.
