The Pharaoh's return

Chapter 13: A little Surprise

The night that the two had made it back to the after life they talked about it and agreed that in this world Yami would go by his real name of Atem and in the real world he would go by Yami, after that they both curled up close and fell asleep in one another's arms. The next morning the two were woken up early by a knock at the door Atem groaned and sat up rubbing his head,

''come in'' he called in a tiered voice as Yugi too sat up rubbing his eyes and yawning sleepily, they looked over to the door to see Mahad walking in with a small smile,

''pardon the early awakening my pharaoh I know you won't be quite used to this again after all your time in the other world. However about that outfit that you had me prepare last night for today onwards I have it here'' Mahad said holding up an outfit that was almost identical to Atem's the only difference was that both it and the silken cape to go with it were crimson. Atem smiled and stood up taking it from him and passed it to Yugi who's eyes started sparkling.

''Really? For me?!'' He exclaimed as he let the soft fabric run over his fingers and onto the bed his pale cheeks were brushed with a light and sweet dusting of pink as he hugged it close to him and looked up to Atem and Mahad that were smiling softly down to him.

''But of course partner I mean you can't exactly wear that stuff when your here in Egypt its far too warm and I don't want you over heating and passing out on me, especially today I need to see all my friends again and introduce you to them all then I'll take you through the town so you know your way around'' Atem said with a smile as he waved Mahad off to get everyone together in the throne room, the magician bowed and walked out of the room. Once the door was closed Yugi jumped off the bed and tackled Atem to the ground kissing all over his face making them both laugh and cuddle for a few minutes before starting to get ready together.

In the throne room Mahad had gathered together, Seth, Isis, Shada, Kefika and Mana as well as all the other staff that worked under the Pharaoh all of which were extremely confused as to why Mahad actually had called them there and what this was all going to be about. Sure it wasn't like any of them really had work after their Pharaoh left but even then they all did have their own plans, Isis walked over to Mahad along with Seth.

''Mahad? Might I ask why it is you called us all here after all we do all have our own plans for today'' Isis said as Seth nodded in agreement just then all their millennium items started glowing softly they all looked up behind a smiling Mahad who had stepped to the side to see Atem standing in the doorway with Yugi slightly behind him clutching his arm nervously. ''My pharaoh! You have returned!'' Isis exclaimed with a deep bow which everyone else in the room all followed suit but Atem just laughed and shook his head.

''Yes, yes I have returned and been given the chance to go between both worlds now before things get too serious again I want you all at ease so I can introduce you all to my boyfriend and lover Yugi'' Atem said taking Yugi's hand and pulling him forwards a little to stand beside him. ''I want you all to treat him with the same respect that you show me and please don't be afraid to talk to him normally as you all do me as well, I want him to feel completely welcome and at home here with all of us'' Atem said looking up to them all.

A small party had been thrown for the staff and people of the palace to celebrate the return of their beloved Pharaoh, halfway through the party Atem was talking with his cousin Seth and actually having a laugh together as Yugi pulled himself away from a curious Mana and walked over to Mahad and Isis,

''uhm, Mahad? Can I talk to you for a minute? In private?'' Yugi asked the magician, he turned around and smiled passing his drink to Isis and nodding.

''Of course you can Yugi allow us to step out of the room and into the hall if is much quieter than in here'' Mahad said leading Yugi out of the room and into the hallway that was indeed far quieter than in the throne room. ''Now how may I help you...ah... are you feeling okay? You seem to have gotten very pale'' Mahad asked worry etching into his voice as he placed the back of his hand to Yugi's forehead that was slightly warmer than normal.

''Yeah I was just starting to feel a little sick and I was wondering if you could look me over? It might be because I'm not used to the Egyptian heat but I just thought it would be better to check and be safe'' Yugi replied, Mahad nodded and started leading to the closet infirmary in the palace then asked him to sit up on the bed. Mahad used his magic to try and get a reading on what might be wrong with him but when he found out what it was he just smiled softly walking over to a wall rack and looking for a potion.

''Tell me Yugi have you ever heard of the term hermaphrodite?'' Mahad asked as he picked up a small vile of blue liquid and turned around, Yugi tilted his head making him chuckle softly as he passed him the vile. ''I will take that as a no, it is someone meaning a human, animal or plant that has both male and female sexual characteristics. What I am trying to tell you is that you, yourself are a hermaphrodite and you are capable of bearing a child'' Mahad explained as Yugi drank the liquid almost choking on it.

''Wait so your telling me that I am pregnant with Atem's child?'' Yugi asked he was happy of course he had always loved kids and wanted one of his own one day but he was also really nervous and scared both over what Atem would think and the whole experience never having gone through this before.

''That is indeed what I am telling you, are you feeling okay now?'' Mahad asked giving him one more scan with his magic making sure Yugi's sickness level's had gone down which they had quiet quickly as well,

''yes I'm okay now I guess I'm just really nervous. I mean what will Atem say? What if he doesn't want a child with me and, and......'' Yugi started as he began to panic but was pulling into a hug by Mahad who calmed him rather quickly.

''Please try to remain calm Yugi it wont be goof for either of you if you stress out. I can assure you that my pharaoh is far more accepting than  he seems and that is already saying a lot as he is already very accepting. I can promise you here and now that he wont leave you or hate you all you have to do is tell him the truth before he finds out by himself okay?'' Mahad asked, Yugi nodded feeling far calmer by his words as he stood up and wiped away the small tears that had started to form.

''Your right I'll tell him today'' Yugi said with a smile that Mahad returned. After that the two started walking back to the throne room where they were met in the hall by Atem himself, Mahad bowed and walked past him into the room as Yugi stood in front of his lover and king ''Atem I need to tell you something but I'm a little worried to do so'' Yugi said playing with his hands as he looked up into his lovers crimson eyes.

''Oh Yugi you don't have to be worried about telling me anything you know I will always accept and love you know matter what happens I swore that to you and I will swear it all over again, as many times as you may need me to'' Atem said taking Yugi's hands into his own and smiled lovingly. Yugi took a deep calming breath with a nod then looked up to him.

''Okay then.... Atem I'm- I'm pregnant''
